to not make friends with the woman who stole my best tupperware box?

It was a really useful size. Rectangular, but as tall as it was wide. And it was one of those firm ones, with a nice green clippy lid. I bloody loved that tupperware.

She seems a nice woman, and I could do with a few friends in the area, but a woman who doesn't respect the sanctity of another woman's tupperware box is a non-starter, isn't she?

Oh no Lord we will both be reported! Op doesn't realise not everyone covets their tupperware like they do. Wink

Once, someone gave me a Tupperware box, and I liked it so much, that when she asked for it back, 6 months later, I lied and denied all knowledge of it.
I'm guessing that makes me a Bad Person?

In my slight defence, what she'd given me in the tupperware was a slice of really nasty flan.

And where is exactly did you get it from that you need to google it? We all know that every single piece of decent tupperware has been previously stolen from someone else.

Or is it just me who repays my MIL for her home cooked presents by nabbing the containers? Not all of them of course, just the good ones with lockable lids .

If it comes back; with lid; uncontaminated by karate pants; it will be stained orange

HughBastard · 03/12/2011 17:28

I am flabbergasted by that shocking and flagrant admission Netto.

My French ex-MIL was fiercely protective of her Tupperware, which she called 'Tooopairoooah'.

She would take her offering to the host's kitchen & refuse to budge until the goods had been transferred to a plate. Then she'd take the empty TW and put it in her car before being able to feel relaxed enough to join the party.

Tupperware is serious stuff.

Respect the tupperware people.

I once accidentally moved country with someone else's tupperware box. It was a lovely one too < reminisces > - square with a firm, overlapping lid. Like a glove lid. But I still returned it the very next time I was in the country.

Were your cupcakes nasty though Hugh, eh, eh?

NettoHoHoHoSuperstar · 03/12/2011 17:44

How do you accidentally move country? Confused

Chulita · 03/12/2011 17:45

Seriously, ask her! There are so many ways to get around the tiny 3 month wait.
"I lost a tupperware box and I just remembered that I'd left it at yours, could I pick it up at the weekend?"

"I know it's been a while but I forgot a tupperware box at yours a few months back, I'd love it back cos it's perfect for my Christmas rocky road storage."

"Stop avoiding the issue and hand over the box you bitch"

Etc. I have lock&lock boxes but have always envied the colourful tupperware stuff.

We took food round with us to a friend for Thanks Giving last year... this year they gave us a plate of leftovers - on our plate! Didn't even know we had left it there all year. :-) Probably explains why we barely seem to have one dish washer load of plates now...

ladybaabaa · 03/12/2011 18:16

Oh god it might be me! I have history. Very sweet friend made me lovely biscuits which she gave me in a small tupperware box which I didn't return. It mixed with my nowhere near as pristine tupperware and then she rather sheepishly asked for it back. I felt SO guilty!

Next time she gave me biscuits, they were in a sandwich bag Xmas Blush.

Tupperware thievery is evil but often unintentional Xmas Smile
