Posting here as I think I might get a quicker response. Basically I thought it would be a good idea for my children to make paperchains to decorate the house. Been all over the bloody place trying to find large sheets (A4sih prob) of the stuff you used to hace at school; all different colours that you licked and it became sticky. every time I type in "gummed paper" i get envelopes. They wont look attractive to the eye I'm sure.
Early learning Centre do proper kits but the reviews are really poor.
Can anyone let me know of a well known shop that sells the stuff!!!

i was lazy and got a kit from Next - £1.99 for 90 strips of pre gummed paper.

I really wouldn't bother with the gummed stuff, we did and they all fell down, cue me and dp on chairs with staplers to repair them, either pritt stick or stapler if they're old enough. Or double sided tape a strip along the edge of pretty card and cut into strips iyswim.

I think the pritt stick is a good idea, might go and get some different coloured paper and cut it to size. I've saw a lot of reviews for the pre gummed stuff that says it comes apart a quite easy.
Oh and plenty of plasters for the inevitable paper cuts!!!

Make your own from strips of Christmas wrapping paper and stick the ends with tape. Holographic paper is fantastic, and metallic type. With plain unpatterned paper you can stick the odd sequin here and there on the loops for added bling.

They won't come apart with sticky tape holding the loops together, and are light to hang up. You can get lots of rolls of paper on 3 for 2 offers. Bit of a pain to cut up all the strips to the same size and length, but the finished effect is fab. DS nursery used to do them, and I pinched the idea.

I just got some good ones in tesco - £1 for 60 with a peel off sticker

harassedandherbug · 02/12/2011 20:34

I got the Next ones too, and they're on 3 for 2.

Paperchase had some beautiful ones the other day.

SuzysZoo · 02/12/2011 21:31

Baker Ross used to do good ones (and cheap).

Yellow moon or baker Ross

last years wrapping paper and sellotape?
My mum still has the paper chains I made when I was off sick from school 41 years ago - basildon bond and teeny staples

I saw these in Poundland this morning, £1 (obv) for 120 sheets of patterned strips of paper gummed at one end.
