I noticed a message on Twitter from a local museum this morning. It read something along the lines of if you are at a loose end with your children tomorrow, why not come along to the museum as it will be open during the day. So not everyone is missing the trick :)

dh is a cinema supervisor and is now working 11 hour shift tomorrow becuase of the manager rubbing his hands together in glee over the strikes. they were meant to open at 1pm now he is in at 10am and finishing at 9pm (although cinema is open till 11)
they only decided this on sunday, but thney definitely saw it as a money making activity. extra screenings of authur christmas and twilight (u and 12a films) they so know what they are doing... someone should benefit i guess, although our primary school is open as normal . and a few other schools are too.

All Edinburgh's museums and galleries are closed as they are council run :-(

However I hope the cinema won't be too busy

This was prompted by another thread. The film is released until December 2nd.
I decided to take my DD to see Tintin tomorrow. Better than swimming.

I've been trying to get an earlier driving test and an extra examiner for my area has been obviously drafted in because there were unused / suddenly-available test-times all that day. I couldn't make use of any of them because my two children are both off school then but perhaps someone might.

WilsonFrickett · 29/11/2011 15:45

Oh thanks for that Groovee I was planning to head to the museum! Blush

kreechergotstuckupthechimney · 29/11/2011 15:46

No idea about ours, I am planning to take DD to one in Widnes. What I save in entry fees (£18 V £6) I'll probably lose in petrol money.
We are going to see TinTin. She is going with her class to see Arthur Christmas.

The Vue cinema in Edinburgh has a kids 10am showing tomorrow, it's usually just weekends and school holidays, so they are obviously hoping for some visitors!

kerala · 29/11/2011 16:01

Tickets booked for Arthur Christmas tomorrow afternoon

Our fab library also closed so you may want to factor that into any plans.

PinkCanary · 29/11/2011 16:02

I've had an email from our cinema to highlight all the kids film showings they're doing tomorrow.

maypole1 · 29/11/2011 16:04
