For the second time this year dh has taken kids out and spent the best part of £80 on Lego. This time, advent calendars, Christmas Scenes etc.
AIBU to think this expenditure is not really necessary.
Our financial situation is ok but we don't have much in savings.
Why can't they make to with the choccy calendar granny brought?

YANBU but surely you should have discussed this with your husband in advance? Most people have some kind of budget for presents. Does he lavish the credit cards in other ways as well or is he just hopeless at saying 'no' to the children?

He had said he was going to get advent calendar. Know that costs about £18. was fine with. Only just discovered how much was spent.
Part of me thinks he enjoys buying dc lego as he loves it himself.

We all enjoy buying things for our kids but responsible parents with 'not much in savings' would think twice before blowing £80 four weeks before Christmas. Maybe you'll have to have an agreement that if either of you are thinking of spending more than a particular amount, you call the other to check it's still OK?
