Why would you not put the old food in the food recycling bin if you didn't want to eat it? Or does everywhere not have these?

ViviPru · 27/11/2011 20:53

Well how about that, nocake, I never knew. Although with all the best will intthe world I probably wouldn't bother as our compost heap is right at the top of the garden and there's no way I'm trooping up there in the freezing cold dark of an evening running the gauntlet of the dogpoo slalom in the name of nourished rhododendrons....

Foh! Balsamic vinegar would have been much improved by 5 years+ maturation. What a waste. Sad

Sparklingbrook · 27/11/2011 20:55

Haberdashery we have one.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 27/11/2011 20:57

I wouldnt have binned any of it. When my nan has a slightly loony "best before" panic clear out, I come home with loads of OOD food Grin

ViviPru · 27/11/2011 20:58

Our bathroom is next to the kitchen, Carol (can't beat bungalow living) Grin And we don't have food recycling in our borough... I only flush coffee grouts though as they stick to the cafetière so hard to empty into the bin whereas I would probably strain the juice of mouldy chickpeas in the sink then bung the solids...

MissBetsyTrotwood · 27/11/2011 20:58

Maybe she wanted to recycle the can? I don't know. My gran disposes of all inedible leftovers down the loo.

thebigkahuna · 27/11/2011 20:59

We have a downstairs loo, so not trekking required here.

But we also live infood caddy/green bin fiasco land so I would have duly scraped them out.
