I love him very much, he is wonderful

But right now watching him shovelling kettle chips into his mouth, with the sound of fucking grenades and machine gun fire and the same sentences repeated by the american marine characters AND him to talking into his headset to his friends playing the same game "get him, fucking get him on the turret, oo yeh right in the head, fuck yeh, I am fucking AWESOME" while I run and downstairs trying to settle the baby (disclaimer:he has offered and I have with cats bum mouth said no, so yes it is my own fault) is making me WANT TO KILL HIM.
Doesn't normally bother be too much but tonight its making my skin itch with irritation
May be hormonal.

ahh last year master when Halo Reach came out and I was off work I spent about six months getting stealthly really good it at it and then "started playing for the first time" in front of him and did straight through on heroic. Was funny..but he thought for a while I would be his kickass female gaming sidekick, had to nip that in the fucking bud.

OP, do you have Kinect? Because if you do, you can enable the voice activation for games like that and it over-rides the control pad, MEANING, you can sit next to him "accidentally" saying words like grenade and reload, causing confusion and getting him killed. Grin

MasterOfTheTriforce · 26/11/2011 22:49

it's always good when you beat their mates and take the piss by reminding them they got beat by a girl. I'm waiting for the halo anniversary game:) Distracted by zelda atm though. We're both gamers lol

ahhyesiseeyouvepooedonyourfoot · 26/11/2011 22:50

Ooh yes we do but he hasn't got round to setting it up yet Hmm (dont even get me started on that, he bitched for MONTHS about wanting one MONTHS) I didn't know it that..I may set it up for him as a 'nice surprise' when he's at work

Annpan88 · 26/11/2011 22:52

pictish yes I've had that fantasy!

Or sometimes, I just simply want to snap the game.

He'll come home one day, and that's it, gone.

Sadly that seems to be a line I'm unwilling to cross maybe more due to the cost of replacing said game than arguement

ahhyesiseeyouvepooedonyourfoot · 26/11/2011 22:52

Halo Anniversary one is out, its quite good, still spend most of the time driving my warthog into trees though. FS. My 6months stealth learning has backfired into me occasionally getting the urge to play, only halo though..so I reckon its ok

MasterOfTheTriforce · 26/11/2011 22:52

Do it!

SantieMaggie · 26/11/2011 22:55

So know what you all mean... especially with the comments about never having time to play!

acsec · 26/11/2011 22:56

I love SkyRim - am watching DP play it now.

Bit of a gamer myself having 2 brothers and my childhood best friend is also male.

ChristinedePizanne · 26/11/2011 22:58

Your husbands shout 'jew' as an insult when they're playing games? Shock

ahhyesiseeyouvepooedonyourfoot · 26/11/2011 23:00

yes christine no we don't get it. yes we are ashamed. Blush

OP posts:
plupervert · 27/11/2011 02:26

If anyone thinks satire would help her OH be ashamed of all the shouting and killing, I can recommend !

ahhyesiseeyouvepooedonyourfoot · 27/11/2011 22:49

Ahh and here we are another night, staring malignantly at the xbox, with him saying this sentence (verbatim): fucks sake mikey, if you paid less attention to the centipede and more time keeping your head down we wouldn't have all be grenaded to shit'

excellent. That is all, continue as you were.

picnicbasketcase · 27/11/2011 22:55

WTF does jew mean in this context??

dreamingbohemian · 27/11/2011 23:05

Picnic, 'jewed' is an incredibly offensive, anti-Semitic slur, meaning 'stole' basically. It hearkens back to historical anti-Semitic caricatures of Jews as moneylenders out to steal from gentiles (basically).

OP you must get him to stop saying this. It's incredibly offensive. I'm actually shocked that anyone is still using it Sad

picnicbasketcase · 27/11/2011 23:07

Wow, that is horrible Shock I had a vague hope that maybe it was some kind of unfortunate acronym, but sadly not.

Andrewofgg · 27/11/2011 23:37

Did anyone see the programme on BBC4 last week about Alan Turing?

Genius, of course, and if he and his gang of weirdos at Bletchley hadn't broken the German naval cipher . . . well. We know what would have happened.

So perhaps it is as well for their motivation that this remote offspring of their work remained hidden from them. These games are revolting anti-social crap and we all know it. I'm not saying I'd ban them but neither should we keep quiet about that obvious truth.

DoubleNegativePanda · 28/11/2011 00:14

DH is a hardcore COD fanatic, and he says he's never heard anyone saying "he jewed my kill" or anything similar. He's a bit shocked that anyone would say it, really.

You should hear the way he and his friends talk on the mics though, hideously foul language. One night I sat down next to him and fell right to sleep; every time he tried to talk all they heard was my lumberjack snoring. That'll teach em.

My DP is studying to be a video games designer, he drives me barmy with all the games talk. Building them, playing them... Angry

His worst is sitting on bloody second life though, you can truely lose days in that.

moondog · 28/11/2011 00:41

God, I'd seriously leave a man who took this sort of drivel seriously.

LineRunnerSaturnalia · 28/11/2011 00:42

jewed

Please tell me that this is not being used on X-Box Live?

Disgusting.

If it gnaws into time that could be spent doing something useful then, yes.

Peopel may spend a long time on MN but they are having a conversation, not pretending to be a soldier while dribbling extruded potato snacks and talking shite.
