To be sick to death of all these "Look at me! Look at my kids! Look at my house!" books and television?

Kirstie Allsop's doing my nut. The woman is an estate agent FFS, surely there are other women who are better qualified to write books and present programmes on British crafts? Every time I see her flouncing around in front of her Aga at fucking Meadowgate I want to dry-heave. The rich husband and the live-in nanny who make all this hobbying possible are nowhere to be found, of course.

Joanna Gosling's book (which she's been plugging away on Mumsnet despite apparently having nicked all her material from this site) is beyond bollocks. The woman admitted herself she has a cleaner and a babysitter - doesn't this disqualify her from teaching the rest of us how to keep house? She's a breakfast TV presenter, why's she being photographed looking picturesque in a hardware store?

Oh, and I'm really, really struggling to give a fuck about Sarah Beeny's attempts to hang on to her 97-room mansion.

I know I don't have to watch their telly or read their 'books', but seriously, what does that leave on the schedules?

I loved Mary Berry on Great British Bake-Off. I loved Amanda Vickery's series.

Where are they now? Why oh why can we not have some women of substance that we actually admire on our screens, instead of all this titty TV totty?

I have read the thread posted by Elder

I want to clap Wompoopigeon rapturously.

I'm honestly bewildered. Joanna's husband is the head of PR and communications for the government. She's a senior presenter at the BBC. Did it just not occur to either of them that this book was a spectacularly bad idea, and makes both of them look like eejits?

Kirstie's spoilt brat strop. Jacqueline Gold owns Anne Summers and Knickerbox, and is the most powerful woman in retail. I'm sure she needs a lesson in team dynamics from a television presenter.

I'm looking forward to Joanna's husband bringing out his sequel book "Simply Wonderman-a survival guide for men with women who earn too much". A book of tax avoidance, 'strategies, tips and ideas that really make a difference to your life' when your wife earns lots of money.

oh no - feeling mean now.... according to the telegraph. Your loft looks lovely Joanna.

Ugh! I just watched the youtube clip and from that, IMHO, Kirstie actually comes across ok - she's genuinely asking why she can't make a phonecall to Richard Branson when her contact has the number for him - and the other woman seems like a bit of a control freak! I particularly liked the 'don't call me darling, I'm nobody's darling' - which was a great comeback to the passive-aggressive/patronising cow.

Otherwise YANBU in that I got very fed up of the 'homemade home' or whatever it was called as it was just completely unrealistic - we could all have homes full of wonderful crafts if all we had to do was had to cock up learn to do a small corner of the work and then leave it to be finished by experts for free! Hmm
