Sorry if this has already been discussed but I can't stand this advert. Aside from confusing little children who still believe in Father Christmas, it also sets the bar very high for parents! Am I a crap and not luverly muvva if I can't supply an Xbox, a Fidget, a Laptop, an Optimus Prime, a HTC Smart Phone or a Fuji Camera??). It takes the spirit of Christmas away and just comes across as grasping and mercenary to me........

families on the breadline that feel they have to buy very expensive gifts, encouraged by this sort of advertising

I agree with you on the whole, OhDear but frankly, anyone who thinks like that ^^ deserves to be fleeced.

Stranded - if advertising has no effect on peoples' behaviour, why do corporations spend millions on it ?

shoobydoowop · 21/11/2011 16:50

what makes me laugh is that the 'luverly muvver' has to buy her own jewellery

i hate all christmas ads in november, however the littlewoods ad when on the radio is quite sweet imo anyway

mothmagnet · 21/11/2011 17:16

I was about to link to Charlie Brooker too Smile
Surely the definitive statement on these Christmas ads.

harrap · 21/11/2011 17:18
