So many clever and inspirational folks on here.

How to choose?

I'd love to have a coffee and chat with seeker.

Oh yes deffo Maryz and give her a big hug for being so lovely.

I was going to mention reindeer earlier but thought she would be too busy to see (honest).

The adoption posse and their children. How brilliant it would be to get them all together.

Lots of lovely people that I have met via the SN boards although I can only imagine the chaos if some of our kids got together Grin

loopyLoops or whatever version of her name she is using now.

Lots actually. The reason why I dont start posting on these threads is because I hate the thought of leaving anyone out.

I am always going to miss someone and then feel bad.

Taking MN into RL would completely defeat the object for me.

I'm tempted of course to assuage my curiosity...but no...

SarahStratton · 20/11/2011 19:46

Dig, I don't find anybody dull on here. Everyone's opinion is interesting, and one of the best things is to know that we can all post without fear of censure (within reason).

DigOfTheNordicFirStump · 20/11/2011 19:50

True Sarah, in an everyone's opinion is valid, even if they talk shite kind of way

SarahStratton · 20/11/2011 19:51

All I do is talk shite. You won't get anything deep and meaningful off me. Grin

DigOfTheNordicFirStump · 20/11/2011 19:52

Oh and I would like to meet most people whose threads have made it into classics - including honeydragon the spider twatter.

animula · 20/11/2011 19:57

bibbity - you are missing a treat!! I've met BiWi and she is lovely.

I never do threads like these - because I am very fond of many people on mn and paranoid about 'doing a Gwynnie' and/or missing someone out - but I have felt moved by all those saying that meeting-ups were disappointing.

My experience has been the exact opposite, with the mn-ers I've met lovely, interesting women, and the meet-up leaving me with a little high for the following days.

ReindeerBollocks · 20/11/2011 20:09

You liar MrsDV Grin

When I said I'd met a Mumsnetter and was disappointed, it wasn't because she was a regular name, or hero worshipped, moreso that she was what I assumed most Mumsnetters would be and she looked down on me massively as I'm not really very middle class. However, I stayed on here and have a better appreciation of the wide range of users.

She was nice enough though, and her baby was gorgeous.

Fellatio - interesting what you say about "putting the hours in" - I probably lurk a lot more than I post (and am a fast reader!), so most people don't know me, but I feel I know them.

As if you're all celebs, and I'm a mere civilian.....Grin

BecauseImWorthIt · 20/11/2011 21:04

I've been to several meet ups now, some local and some of the bigger Christmas/Spring ones. With only one exception, everyone I have met has been lovely. They may not have been exactly as I had imagined them, but meeting them has added another dimension to how I perceive them, IYSWIM.

(And before anyone asks, the exception that proves the rule is no longer posting on MN and has not for some time)

bigTillyMint · 20/11/2011 21:05

Oh definitely MaryzWink You coming?

Yes, me too CV.

yeah as I shoot her

BecauseImWorthIt · 20/11/2011 21:25

Actually, I met daftpunk twice, at local meet ups. She was totally different in real life from how she posted here. However, both times were before the election, and before she suddenly started posting her horrible BNP stuff. I would never have known that she held those views, or could be so offensive. TBH, I had her pegged as a typical Daily Mail reader, and on that basis could forgive her.

NormanTheForeman · 20/11/2011 21:29

Awwww, thank you, pranma! Apart from the Nobdies (some of whom I have already met, and all of whom have been lovely), I would like to meet some of the other MNers who love Playmobil. For obvious reasons. People like Slubberdegullion, Stealthsquiggle, Chippy Minton, Belgo, Tikkabillajive, ShoopingBagsUnderEyes, etc. All of whom pile in on the Playmobil threads regularly, and understand where us short plastic people are coming from.

PandaG, madhairday and Maryz are all in my autocorrect so would be good to meet them

BecauseImWorthIt · 20/11/2011 22:52

I know, BTP.

Her DH gave me a lift home after one meet up, and I was worried for a long time after that, that they both knew where I lived. (I had a couple of pretty full-on run-ins with her once I realised what her true politics were).

It did make me wary about meet-ups after that, I have to say. And also made me realise that I was too trusting.
