To think Edwina Currie should be locked up and gagged?

Shes an utterly poisoned witch.
'no ones starving in the UK' oh really?
And 'the wealthy elderly shouldnt be pressurised into donating their fuel allowance to someone who needs it more'
I can always see peoples points of view however controversial, but she really is a nasty little witch.
Cant she be replaced by a nice person? With something positive to contribute?

She did what?! ...so if you're poor it's better to live in a tip and have a bad diet then?

"To think Edwina Currie should be locked up and gagged?"

No, I think it's good that a few of these vile dinosaurs should roam around spouting their antiscial bile.

It will remind us that the Thatcher years really were that bad.

Oily ex-Etonian PM and his oily largely ex-Etonian cabinet are pretending to be nice.

Edwina is a hardline right wing Tory; but she fell out with the top brass in the Tory Party when they sacked her from he Ministerial job years ago. She has never forgiven then; and embarrasses them by he extreme publicity stunts.
Like a lot of rich Tories she finds poor people embarrassing. So she attacks
people who want to give to the poor to heat their houses in winter.

Extreme views get her publicity; especially on minority BBC radio stations. And some Tory papers

I have long detested Edwina Currie. Call me old fashioned but I have never had any time anyway for those who knowingly get involved with married people, jeopardising the happiness of their spouses & children -unless the mitigating circumstances are exceptional. Here there are none, this woman slept with her boss John Major over 4 years to further her career then gloated about it afterwards to promote her book. She is a disgusting s--g and her contemptible attitude to the poor is completely in character. I am so glad that she was humiliated and taken down publicly on TV

weevilswobble · 20/11/2011 08:57

Does she have some kind of contract on the BBC or something?

I don't like her - but she made a few good points about that woman on the One Show, who said she wouldn't work at a job she didn't like and insisted her children should have everything they want.

There are people genuinely in poverty- but there are also people who are in poverty because they do not budget or prioritise spending properly - two different things.

I want the Tories out, don't think it will happen for a while yet though.
