I just prefer to give my limited funds and time to human projects instead. if given the choice of helping a sick or struggling person or a sick or struggling animal, I'd always choose the person.

If people only ever gave money to the one most important thing in the world - whatever that is - there would be an awful lot of very valuable things with no funding at all.

I think it's a question of proportion, not all or nothing.
