to buy my baby a pushchair for Christmas

It's for me really, isn't it?

She already has one, but it squeaks, doesn't fold down very well and cost me £15 second hand.

I'd like her me to have a nice new one.

We have a house full of toys and I am at a loss as to what to get her for Christmas, I have bought her birthday presents and exhausted all my ideas!

She'll only be 13 months at Christmas, she won't know.

YANBU

Surely it'll be like her getting a new car :)

PopcornMouse · 16/11/2011 12:37

YADNBU. I like the car analogy :o

FredFredGeorge · 16/11/2011 12:37

Of course YANBU

buttonmoon78 · 16/11/2011 12:39

YA sooo NBU.

Our baby will be getting a highchair. At least yours will be getting a set of wheels Wink

CinnamonStar · 16/11/2011 12:40

YANBU, she'll be much more comfy and cosy in a nice new one Wink. It will be a great present.

Nagoo · 16/11/2011 12:43

Oh, I'm genuinely surprised!

I thought I was a selfish child-depriver!

YANBU - at that age she won't know / remember and you will both be able to go for lovely walks and outings

Also like the car analogy

Slightlyreluctantexpat · 16/11/2011 12:59

YANBU

Just get her what YOU like. She will not care.

Does she have older siblings? They might care, but they only want to be sure that she hasn't got more than them. They won't want a pushchair.

PiousPrat · 16/11/2011 13:02

Are you insane?

That is a FABULOUS idea! Assuming it comes in a box, she'll be getting to rip open a giant present then play in a huge box. At that age, that's all they care about anyway.

laurenamium · 16/11/2011 13:04

YANBU!!

Last year DD (then 9 days) received a cot and a car seat

This year DD (will be 1) is getting clothes, shoes and nappies...with the odd toy thrown in Wink

TroublesomeEx · 16/11/2011 13:04

My DD got nothing for Christmas #1 and clothes for birthday #1.

YANBU

StealthPenguin · 16/11/2011 13:08

We're buying DS a new carseat, as he'll only be 5 months old. Also told the family that we aren't expecting anything but if they do want to get him something, then clothes would be perfect.

YADNBU!

Ineedacleaneriamalazyslattern · 16/11/2011 13:15

YANBU at all.
For DS1 1st birthday I bought his next stage car seat, we were the same house full of toys and also a big family that buy the dc loads of stuff so if I had bought toys I would have been spending money for the sake of spending money was far better spent on a good car seat which meant we got out and about lots in the car for trips and things.

Colliecollie · 16/11/2011 14:50

You could also get her one of those activity bars or hook on toys/books, maybe make you feel better about it Grin

icooksocks · 16/11/2011 14:52

I second what pious said
YANBU

Katiepoes · 16/11/2011 15:00

No problem. Our 18 month old is getting a sleigh - we'll be on holiday with the family in Austria and she can use it there. The fct that I searched until I found one that can take my weight too has nothing to do with anything. Grin

Trills · 16/11/2011 15:01

She's 13 months old - get a pushchair that comes in a cardboard box and let her play with the box.
