Do we really need to see Dr Chris sticking his fingers up Paul Ross's arse live on tv?

blimey, did they, Thingumy? haha
I wonder that men think that they will be put in an uncomfortable position.
ie' Ok Mr Smith, bend over and touch your toes.'
I can see that it is a good thing to show them that that is not the way it is done and actually they will leave with their dignity intact.
If it is mainly women watching who will be able to tell the husbands that, then that would be a good thing.
I have no idea who normally watches This Morning, it was just a thought.

Well didn't we once see Phillip and Fern witness a scrotum wax? Prostate check in no way tops THAT!

YABU and yes, you do need to see it if you have any men in your life that you care about.

cheekeyiownitmonkey · 15/11/2011 14:13

Oh, thank god, someone made me laugh at last, didn't think it was going to happen today Thanks

cheekeyiownitmonkey · 15/11/2011 14:14

Not the actual message btw, I mean the title of the thread. Am all for cancer awareness..

Thingumy · 15/11/2011 14:20

I don't need to see it FAB.

As I said in a previous post,my father has prostate issues of his own.

Luckily,he went to his gp with 'minor' symptoms and was given a blood test.

Blood tests are used IRC. The 'other' exams happen when you see a urologist.

Posters in men's toilets outlining symptoms would be helpful I think.

Thingumy · 15/11/2011 14:28

Have they done a live smear?

CroissantNeuf · 15/11/2011 14:48

I guess if it encourages even one man to get checked out then it would have been worth it so YABU.

However, I'd love to know how Paul Ross's agent put it to him..."er, Paul we have a proposition for you from This Morning...you could call it..er... ground-breaking TV....they'd like you to let Dr Chris ....errr......put his finger up yer bum on live morning telly"

ExquisiteCake · 15/11/2011 14:54

Bugsy they did one on Embarrassing Bodies. The female GP had one done on TV.

mrsden · 15/11/2011 14:57

Lots of men with prostate cancer don't have any symptoms so don't find out they have it until it's too late. My uncle had no symptoms until it had spread. So, simply telling people what symptoms to look out for isn't enough. It's a simple check that a GP can do, and can be combined with a blood test if the doctor thinks it necessary. I think the point of showing the examination was probably to show how quick and painless it is.

Bugsy2 · 15/11/2011 15:03

PMSL Croissant!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exquisite, I'm not sure there is anything they haven't done on embarrassing bodies. Am always amazed at how they get people to show all their very, very intimate & often quite grimly parts that (along with their faces)!!!!

corlan · 15/11/2011 15:25

What's wrong with it?

I would pay good money to watch someone stick their fingers up Paul Ross's arse and consider myself entertained and educated by the experience.
