to think that anyone who already has a Christmas name is --a bit sad-- somewhat premature?

I guess the name changers are the target audience for channel 327 on Sky. :o

SaggyoldCHRISTMASHUMBUGcatpuss · 14/11/2011 20:28

How about mine? Its more an statement of antichristmasarianism than an actual christmas name...

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 14/11/2011 23:43

I couldn't think of a Halloween name so bow to those who have already thought of brilliant names for Christmas (OldGreyWassailTest, that's you, that is). If I had thought of a brilliant name I would feel quite within my rights to use it straightaway too. (And I am speaking as someone who sometimes doesn't put the tree up until Christmas Eve)

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 14/11/2011 23:43

Why did my bolding not work?

AnyFucker · 15/11/2011 00:06

because your first bracket was directly next to the *

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 15/11/2011 00:42

Thank you AF

MardyBra · 15/11/2011 00:47

She's good with thread title protocol AND bolding, that AF!

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 15/11/2011 01:02

Whenever I see AnyFucker shortened to AF I think aunt flow, sorry Blush

My name is NOT christmas related, I've had pms asking, I too shall wait. --even though I'm watching and sky+ing channel 327--

peanutmakinalistncheckinitwice · 15/11/2011 08:08

Festive and proud < blows raspberry and runs >

MardyBra · 15/11/2011 09:01

I'd never heard of Auntie Flo (or AnyFucker for that matter) until I joined MN. Besides I have to abbreviate because otherwise it does not fit my entire arbitary reasonable shortenable names criteria. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1334245-to-think-that-user-names-should-be-easy-to-type-or-easy-to-shorten?pg=3

I quite like MardyScrooge, Sue.

AnyFucker · 15/11/2011 09:20

I had never heard of Aunt Flo either

is it an Americanism ?

now, whenever I see AF referring to periods, I think wtf ??

JaneFeestelijkBierdekijn · 15/11/2011 09:28

I never win but I always seem to end up choosing other people's names for them. I think Buda got shortlisted once with hers.

I take joy in my toil behind the scenes

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 15/11/2011 13:02

Shortlisted? You mean "best Christmas name comp" is not just a figure of speech?

JaneFeestelijkBierdekijn · 15/11/2011 13:03

It is ALL TOO REAL

TheAlmostFestiveKnid · 15/11/2011 13:05

It's quite shocking, really. [tuts]

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 15/11/2011 13:06

Okay, I'm off to pile up thesauruses/thesauri big books full of words

MrsChristmasDB · 15/11/2011 14:12

I'm not sad.

MardyBra · 15/11/2011 14:48

Good try but still premature Kniddy.

TheAlmostFestiveKnid · 15/11/2011 14:51

You are just jealous, Bra. Grin

MardyBra · 15/11/2011 15:13
