A mother at my DS's primary school was on it. She had all manner of weird stuff Wink in her bedroom. She hadn't been so kind to one of her DC but realised that after the swap.

id love to go on it just to get rid of dh for a bit and as im so lazy im sure theyd swap me with a clean freak so the house would be tidy!

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 13/11/2011 17:48

There was a woman whose DC went to my child's school that went on Wife Swap.

She reversed into the car of someone who lived on the road the school was on and just drove off, even though there were about four people who witnessed the incident.

I was not surprised when she rolled up on Wife Swap a while later and was painted as a complete BITCH.

It could have been the editing, though. Yeah, right!

iliketea · 13/11/2011 17:50

I met someone who was on wifeswap at a training thing i went to a few years ago, programme made her look like a loon, when in fact she seemed quite normal in real life.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 13/11/2011 17:50

Takver what do you mean by 'intentional community'?

worraliberty · 13/11/2011 17:54

A couple of years ago I was on one of the Ebay chat forums and everyone was discussing the episode of Wife Swap that had been on the night before.

They were mainly slagging off one of the women on there cos she was quite horrendous.

Anyway, she came onto the thread and went ballistic Shock

She said she had Googled that episode to see what was being said about her on chat forums etc...

It was definitely her because you could tell by her ebay account. After that, a few reality TV people used to come on to threads after Googling themselves too.

Takver · 13/11/2011 17:56

MyChild - sorry - kind of commune but not exactly

SnowChains · 13/11/2011 17:58

worra - wonder if this is the same woman.

Problem is, although I have done some seraching, I was probably posted in chat and therefore now history.

I think we have had 2 occasions of them on here.

MNHQ - Are you listening?? Do you remember?

I am sure one was a business woman who had 2 step children, she was very high maintenance and besotted with her new husband.

Another was something to do with this woman pleading pov but trying to run some sort of ?jewellery? or something business and had spent every penny on buying a computer.

The cheek of actively looking for what people are saying on the net about the choice you made to go on a TV program and be edited onto the wrong side of rational , and then getting shitty about it Shock

Maybe attention seeking a little tiny weeny bit?

auntiepicklebottom2 · 13/11/2011 18:10

I'd love to do it, my manual would say 'when you can go on MN' [win]

but could she use your username

BumWiper · 13/11/2011 18:11

I was on the news here in Ireland when we were protesting about the cuts to SNA's.

lifechanger - happy to contribute to a thread if you start one, not sure what I would say to start it though. There are at least a sprinkling of people on here who live / have lived in intentional communities. The Diggers and Dreamers website is also a good read.

Living in one is a very good way to get on the telly if you wish to do so - dd was on Blue Peter before she was even old enough to watch it Grin

mumofthreekids · 13/11/2011 18:34

cheesesarnie, love it! Best method ever of giving your house a spring clean!!

nbee84 · 13/11/2011 18:40

I vaguely knew someone who was on 'How Clean Is Your House' and I wasn't surprised at her house. She never took any care of her self and her clothes were often pretty grubby and when she opened the doors of her car rubbish would often fall out! They didn't clean the car out on the show Grin

worraliberty · 13/11/2011 18:43

That might be the same one!

All I can remember was her business came before absolutely everyone and everything.

Unsurprisingly she came on the thread and said the only reason she did the show, was to get her business on TV!

RosemaryandThyme · 13/11/2011 18:49

I'm in an intentional community too.......though unintentially don't seem to be able to get out Smile

Takver · 13/11/2011 19:10

Oops, that's not so good, Rosemary. Have you been asked to go on Wife Swap? Grin

quietlyafraid · 13/11/2011 19:17

Why anyone would like to go on a show like CDWM or WS is completely beyond me. They always try and make the people on it look like twats - mainly cos they deliberately pick people to appear on the show who actually ARE twats. I think googling yourself after the show really says a lot about the mentality of the person concerned.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 13/11/2011 19:20

was this one with baby and mum on net

agedknees · 13/11/2011 19:48

My dd was on wife swap - she was in a shop serving one of the wife swappers.

Does that count?

quietlyafraid · 13/11/2011 19:53

Not unless she googled herself afterwards to see what everyone thought of her...

PeneloPeePitstop · 13/11/2011 19:56

Yes.
I'm Lizzie Bardsley.

HTH.

Rhubarbgarden · 13/11/2011 19:58

I know a woman who was on Wifeswap. She's a loon but was edited to appear really nice.
