I should let ds continue to shred the toilet roll he has just found? and it will keep him quiet for a food long while

Yes.
Then you can play lively music whilst he tries to stuff it all into a bag.
Then he can play with the hoover, and it will be lunchtime before you know it.
You can call it 'working on his fine motor skills' if anyone asks.

Ahh, yes this is a very popular 'game' in our house.. Especially so with boxes of tissues and packets of wipes.. Loo rolls in general go straight in the loo (whole!) or the bath... Blush
