:o

kickassangel · 13/11/2011 02:01

haven't watched it yet, but on the basis that i'm in the US & unable to shop at JL. am I allowed to cry tears of frustration?

(I loved JL, would happily have moved in there)

kickassangel · 13/11/2011 02:04

Watched it. Not even close to crying.

What is wrong with me?

The most emotional part was seeing the outside of the house - I thought 'British houses' and had a brief pang.

PigletJohn · 13/11/2011 02:30

Bah humbug.

It's definitely a severed head.

All that build up and the lad didn't wake up until 8am on Xmas morning and there was no sign of his sister. It was quite sweet but did the parents drug the children the night before?

LaFilleSurLePont · 13/11/2011 10:31

Not a tear here, having just watched it on YT,and I'm a big wuss. Why would it make people cry?Confused

I presume I watched the correct advert. The one where a boy is waiting to give a gift to his parents?

LaFilleSurLePont · 13/11/2011 10:32

And what happened to his sister?

IfYouSeeKay · 13/11/2011 10:34

YABU

we don't have JL here so don't get the ad. I just watched it on Youtube though and now I'm blubbing into my porridge. I hate watery porridge.

Has to be the pregnancy hormones. Just has to be

LaFilleSurLePont · 13/11/2011 10:35

Kickassangel. I'm sure that John Lewis online deliver to the US now.

LaFilleSurLePont · 13/11/2011 10:36

Not quite the same thing as being in the store though I know.

kickassangel · 14/11/2011 01:05

lafille - I'm googling that right now.

it's not just the store (v pretty), or the goods (v good), but the customer service. Used to be the only place in Cambridge where they actually helped with the pram instead of glaring at it.

kickassangel · 14/11/2011 01:09

You are RIGHT - Only 15 quid.

theworldaccordingtome · 14/11/2011 08:49

It's nice that there is a Christmas advert that isn't all about the receiving of stuff and it succeeds if it is affecting people in such a way. But honestly, (and I am probably a heartless cow for thinking this) IT'S AN ADVERT!! I get it if your pregnant and hormonal but otherwise I JUST DON'T GET IT.

Pudden · 14/11/2011 08:58

It left me unaffected I'm afraid and I have been known to sob at biscuit adverts. Can't believe it cost 5 million quid to make- there's nowt to it!

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2011 08:59

Really- 5 million? Shock

OhDoAdmit · 14/11/2011 09:10

Its quite nice.

It is a millon times better than the others. They are fecking horrible.
M&S, Debenhams and Very Hmm

We all know Christmas is an over commercialised, sparkly spend-fest but do they have to shove it our faces quite so cynically?

MissPenteuth · 14/11/2011 09:18

I thought it was sweet, but then I am a bit wet like that. I welled up, no proper tears though. If it had been on two years ago when I was pg I would have blubbed for ages.
