Went to docs yesterday and diagnosed with a really serious infection and instructed to spend at least two to three days resting completely with legs elevated. Am on sofa, have tea, have water, have i-phone, have house phone, have tv, have dd running jobs, have dh ironing and being very attentive. I feel absolutely fine in myself (can barely walk though). MNet seems very slow today and I am almost bored enough to start on the christmas cards!

I don't think travellers/gypsies should be allowed to wear poppies. If they want their own communities they can leave our cherished customs alone.
They only steal them from local shops anyway.

Will this do, marriedinwhite?

Andrewofgg · 12/11/2011 16:41

Nice one, grovel

thousandDenier · 12/11/2011 16:41

We haven't had a good thread along the lines of pirate / kitchen implement sex for a while. Something along those lines?

marriedinwhite · 12/11/2011 16:42

The Great British Food Revival has just come on! After that might nip over to Classics.

Rita Morgan started one just as I gave up!

AIBU to get annoyed when the neighbours cats shit in my herb garden? If a dog shat in my garden I would have a right to complain, but apparently I don't if its a cat. Cats have to be kept indoor in some American States, the law should be changed here too.

(Good luck on that one. I've actually fallen out with a RL friend with this one after she accused me of encouraging cruelty to animals).

marriedinwhite · 12/11/2011 22:19

If you are my neighbour quietlyafraid I apologise for them.

I am going to get my newborn's ears pierced tomorrow.

recall · 12/11/2011 22:19

and will never let her be vaccinated

quietlyafraid · 12/11/2011 22:20

Or AIBU for thinking all beard are evil and deeply unsexy.

quietlyafraid · 12/11/2011 22:35

Are the government being unreasonable for proposing a law that all strike ballots must have at least 50% turnout of members for a strike to be legal?

Hmmm

Should anyone who shouts "I BLAME LABOUR" or "WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM TORY SCUM" should just be instantly shot for being annoying?

I should probably stop thinking of these before I actually come up with one that causes offence...

marriedinwhite · 12/11/2011 22:39

No, but there's quite a little picture building up of a fur hating leftie stiking up quietly. And as for recall, I quite agree - far more sensible to use a needle to insert pretty jewellery than to save her life.

Would you eat guinea pig if you were on holiday in peru where it regularly eaten?

Really should stop...

quietlyafraid · 12/11/2011 22:41

I have 8 guinea pigs marriedinwhite. I have enough to make a whole fur coat.

marriedinwhite · 12/11/2011 22:43

Depends whether I knew if it was guinea pig Grin. Settling myself down for the night now - the antibiotics are wearing me out!

marriedinwhite, I hope you sleep well and feel better tomorrow. This thread really is too dangerous for me, and its a bloody good job I've not had a drink or too. I'm not convinced MN is place for me to really put too many controversial ideas up... as fun and as tempting as it might be. I'm quite liking being in a civilised forum for once.

Appuskidu · 13/11/2011 00:12

People who have c-sections and formula feed are just lazy-arsed slatterns.

Children who are allowed to play with xboxes/playstations/Nintendos/guns/paper and pencils will end up mass murderers.

People who watch ITV are stooopid.

My child's school is having another inset day this week and it's taking the biscuit. They should only attend courses once at 21 and then work from 7-7pm 7 days a week without being trained in anything new. Then we shall moan about them for being tired old has-beens who don't live in the real world.

Spelling/grammar/punctuation don't matter.

MillyR · 13/11/2011 00:14

I was thinking about asking if I was being unreasonable to walk my dogs while wearing night vision goggles (me wearing them, not the dogs).

Although I can't find the batteries for them, at the moment.
