I am really UPSET by this!
I work all weekend, and DP has to feed the kids. He is a USELESS git cook, and refuses to let me teach him. He gives them FROZEN JUNK FOOD and I have to accept this. BUT, he has gone TOO FAR!
I came home from work yesterday, and there, in MY OVEN, were GOD DAMNED, never to be event located within a hundred yards of my general vicinity, CRISPY PANCAKES!!
I'm not sure if I can get over this, what should I do??

I'm sure there was an episode of River Cottage not too long ago in which they all made cheffy crispy pancakes from scratch. That must have been what was in your oven.

FoiledAgain · 07/11/2011 14:24

Yep here

Ooh crispy pancakes remind me of my student days.

Whenever my husband "cooks" for the kids they get tinned spaghetti or ravioli. I believe this is his way of making sure he always gets out of the job of cooking the kids meals (it works).

lolaflores · 07/11/2011 14:29

The vesta chow mein Netto who is your supplier. The crispy pancakes could have been improved with a bit of salad, would have evened it out my nutrionally challanged head. If it is any help, I fucking hate my husbands cooking. I eat it but my face is telling a whole other story.

But, did the kids go "yum yum bubble gum, daddy lets have another one"? Or were they leading the charge out the door.

picnicbasketcase · 07/11/2011 14:32

I really fancy one of the minced beef and gravy crispy pancakes now. And that's so wrong on so many levels.

NettoSuperstar · 07/11/2011 14:50

My supplier is the shop over the road. They sell all manner of delicious food cheap trash.
I did melt my nylon sieve draining the crispy noodles though.

NettoSuperstar · 07/11/2011 14:53

Also, for anyone interested, I found scampi fries in pondland last week.

dinkystinky · 07/11/2011 14:56

was he having a retro themed dinner? Were they to be followed by some butterscotch angel delight? Grin

dinkystinky · 07/11/2011 14:57

Lol at the scampi in pondland!

NettoSuperstar · 07/11/2011 14:58

Bloody typo, though tbf Pondland does sum up the Dumbarton branch of Poundland fairly well.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 07/11/2011 15:32

You mean you're serious?

makachu · 07/11/2011 15:42

Mmmmm I love cripy pancakes. And the cheese ones are REMARKABLY low calorie. Probably because they have nothing remotely resembling cheese in them.

makachu · 07/11/2011 15:42

Crispy, rather.

Theala · 07/11/2011 15:43

This is just mean to those of us who live in countries lacking crispy pancakes. Envy

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 07/11/2011 15:47

Of course I'm serious, FGS it will be greggs sausage rolls next!!
