Voluntary contributions for school educational trips?

Do you always pay these? I always have done but I was talking to a friend who said that she never pays a penny as they are educational visits, those on benefits get them for free and she doesn't see why others should have to pay too if it's to do with the curriculum.

I have to say, I do agree with her. Lots of school trips do seem overpriced too. I'm wondering if those that do pay are charged a bit extra to pay for those that don't pay?

We can afford it so yes we pay.

I don’t begrudge people who can’t afford it not paying.

I’m Hmm at people who can afford it but don’t pay

Parents on benefits are expected to pay like working parents actually. All recieve revieve the SAME letter requesting payment!
This 'voluntary' word in the requests seems to stop too people from paying including working parents and many many many tines, trips are cancelled alltogther.
SELFISH.

I can see why she thinks that. those on benefits are likely getting a decent amount of money plus child benefit so should pay. Everyone should pay and it's unfair when others don't. Expecting the same things for free that that others have to pay for is wrong.

Schools would be far duller if there were no trips, author visits etc and they have to ask parents to help with the extras. So sad so many begrudge the costs that come with children that they chose to have.
