I read somewhere that the TPS recommend you regularly update them that you wish to remain on it ? I'm not sure how regularly though. Blush

Oooh, Stacey That would annoy me !

Very often now, I just don't answer the phone, especially if I'm busy.

I can always call back if it's important.

The ones that irritate me the most are the people claiming to be from my bank:

Caller: "Good afternoon Mrs Squishy, this is BankofRobbingBastards, could I just ask you some security questions before we proceed"

Me: "No, you may not. You may give me name and where you are calling from and I will call back".

Caller: "But it won't take a moment and then we can proceed with the matter at hand".

Me: "I have no interest in giving out my details over the phone to an unsolicited caller".

Caller: "Could you just confirm the 2nd and 4th digits of your telephone banking pin?"

Me: "Could you?"

Caller: "Pardon?"

Me: "Well, if you are from my bank and you give me the right digits then I may proceed with the call".

Caller: "That really isn't how it works".

Me: "That's really not my problem. Goodbye!"

Do they really think we're that naive?

I always get a call from my bank. I know I have enough money and check my bank every other day so If I get a call its always a sales call to try get me to pay money for a better bank account.

conversation ALWAYS goes

"hello is that mrs signet"
Yup
"hello mrs signet its * from * bank - I just need to take you through security - can you tell me the third and seventh number from your password"
Nope - you phoned me.... how about I take you through security?
"sorry I need to confirm you are mrs signet"
and i need to confirm your the bank. What is this in relation to:
"if i can just take your security information"
"if you can just tell me it so i know your are actually from the bank"
"I cant do anything til you go security"
"well, seen as you phoned me Im not prepared to give you my details, as you could be anyone. However as i know i have sufficient funds in my bank and i checked my online banking a few hours ago I know to my knowledge there are no issues with my bank.... Am i Correct?
"if you can just give me the security information i require I can answer that for you"
" If you can just tell me my info Ill tell you if your right. Then we can have the conversation!"
"im sorry mrs signet Im not allowed to do that"
"well in that case mr bank man Im afraid youre wasting your time. You need to send me the information in a letter and I will respond accordingly.
Goooooddddbyeee
