This is the first birthday I've had a bit of a shitty on because I'm getting older. Last time I checked, I was 19. I'm 24 today. Officially mid-twienties. Bah.

And I've had a rubbish morning at work.

Kind ladies of Mumsnet, please cheer me up Sad

Really?

I'm 24. What's wrong with being mid twenties Confused?!

OriginalGhoster · 01/11/2011 10:28

24 is a lovely age. You are easily old enough to be my daughter Smile

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 01/11/2011 10:42

TheBrideofFrankenstein · 01/11/2011 11:04

Don't worry- you've only got another 6 years and you'll be in your thirties, which is the best decade by miles.

Annanymous · 01/11/2011 11:06

tmmy "Just turned 30 a few days ago. Spent it in bed crying and feeling sad."

You really need to get a life.

itspeanutbutterjellytime · 01/11/2011 11:11

annanymous yes I am currently on treatment for PND.

OP if you're depressed it's absolutely normal to feel like that. We'll do our best to cheer you up Wink

Guess what, I've got no excuse whatsoever, I cried my eyes out when I was 20 (!!!) as I felt I wasted my teenage years (don't ask - birthday party at home with family):(
Then felt pretty unhappy but put on a brave face at 30 (still felt like shit and that I'm wasting my life with exH).
Now looking forward to my 40th next year...
It really is but a number.... the message for me, looking back, is: doesn't matter what age you are, it matters that you're relatively happy with what you've done in those however many years.

You sound like you have a nice DH, lots of presents and a DC - sound to me like lovely reasons to be pleased!

Happy birthday - here's to you Wine
