To be upset that the first time my baby laughed it wasn't because of me?

DD is my pfb and it was my SIL who first made her laugh. At first I couldn't stop laughing too and it was honestly one of the most wonderful things I've ever heard. This was earlier on in the week and since then I have tried everything to try and get her to laugh again but she won't! She went to MIL's yesterday without me (I'm not very well) and was laughing again. Why can't I get her to laugh? AIBU to feel ever so slightly heart broken that the first time she laughed it was for someone else?

This always makes me smile

That's so funny but quite creepy too SusiaX! How on earth do you do synchronised laughing???

WiiUndead · 29/10/2011 21:05

YANBU, I feel your pain!

DS both smiled & laughed at being in the bath. It would have broken my heart if he smiled / laughed at SIL first though, she's a hag! :(

My SIL is actually very lovely but I couldn't help but feel a bit Envy

I assume someone behind the camera is doing something they find funny although my DS always laughs if someone laughs at him so maybe one of them finds it funny and the others just join in!

Ooh I can imagine how hard that is! DS is 5 weeks and has just about started some little smiles - at least, my parents say he's smiled at them, he's never smiled at me Sad. Occasionally he'll smile whilst feeding (breastfed) but I think it's no more than exercising face muscles, cos he also raises his eyebrows and looks grumpy or screws up his nose....can't wait for a real smile as a reaction to something I do!
