There are loads of thread joiners but not many starters.

I think MN would be more vibrant if people stuck their necks out and started more threads. Just saying...

I'm rubbish at starting threads. I had one that was quite glorious in Classics, but generally mine peter out after about eleven responses. I am more of a riffer with the vibe, I think

The best thing about starting threads is you never know quite how they are going to end up. I inadvertently started a quiche once.
