DD1 is 10. Her best friends (twins) live across the road. They spend a lot of time together here or there.
Their mum offered to have her today (half term) as I was working. It's a long day for me. she went over at 8:30 this morning.
I finished work at 7pm, picked up DD2 and texted their mum when we got home. bathed DD2 put her to bed had some dinner. texted again asking to send her home.
DD1 just texted begging for another half hour, friends mum is fine.
Aibu to want her to come home now. she has been there all day and I'd like to see her before we hi to bed ?

At 10yo, she should most definately be at her own home and ready for bed by this time of night..

And yes, she should come home when you say, not when she decides..

She's a very good girl. No trouble with her at all. She is very close to the twins. I know their mum well. Normally she would be in bed by this time but in half term she stays up later.
She will come if I insist but not sure if I should. I miss her is it just me being selfish. She is perfectly safe but will be time for bed when she gets in so I get no time with her at all.

You posted at 21:06 ...another 1/2 hour is fine .... provided the host mother isnt at her wits end

It's nice she's welcome there and has had a nice time, but I would tell her to come home if you're missing her.

It's not selfish to want to see your DC Smile

Checked with friends mum she is fine. The girls are excellent together no trouble at all. She has till 9:30.

I'll be slated - its you that has 'needy' time and wants your DC company - shes happy with friends.

I miss her is it just me being selfish ummm yes.

I'd insist. You want to see her - completely fair enough. And friend's mum has had a long long day with someone else's child - she might say she's fine but actually be desperate for the chance to switch off and relax.
