AIBU to think this is odd/weird/spooky...seaweed, fishheads & kidneys!

I'm still a bit

Walking back today ds1(18) and I saw this big pile of boxes, an ironing board and an office chair on the grass verge thing and were tutting about people leaving rubbish.

When we got closer a man was lying down inside the 'fort' obviously a homeless guy. Twas unusal as it's a well used path & I've never seen anything like it before there...however this is where it gets odd.

After walking on slightly, I said to ds 'do you mind if we give that guy your galaxy bar' he said 'no, should we give him a few quid as well'

So up we trot and offer the chocolate and the money (£5.50 not much but the coins we had) and he said 'no thank you, but if you want to help could you get me some seaweed'

Me: 'Do you not want the chocolate or the money? I have no idea where to get seaweed?

Him 'You can get it at a chinese supermarket, and could you use the money your offering to get me a bag of fishheads too'

Me: 'I don't think there's a chinese supermarket around here but we are walking along to Asda now, can I pick you up anything from there, I don't think they do seaweed or fishheads though'

Him: 'Some lambs kidneys, have to be lambs though'

Me: (nervous laugh) 'Are you some sort of wizard performing a satanic ritual'

Him: (hearty laugh) 'You know your stuff'

Me and DS1 made our excuses and left but now I'm a bit spooked, it was such a weird conversation. What if he he a wizard??

I even looked in Asda for seaweed, fishheads and kidneys because I'm worried if I don't get them to him he might have magical powers and do something spooky

It interesting you mention your friend developing the illness after smoking skunk, I think alot of people don't realise the damage that does to minds and think it's a safe natural high. I hope your friend finds peace soon x

I got the seaweed and the kidneys but he wasn't there today, he has obviously moved on and by the looks of things taken his ironing board and office chair with him !

So if anyone see's this guy tell him creamolafoamless tried to get him his stuff [hgrin]

Maybe you could tell him that the "seaweed" from the chinese restaurant is just deep fried salted kale or spring cabbage and ask if he wants that or actual seaweed. Morrisons do lambs kidneys, and you could get some whole fish, sardines or something, have them for your tea, and just take him the heads. Nutritious meal, a nice walk, and a good deed, all in one fell swoop!
