.... my next door neighbour has just spent half an hour washing her car on my front garden.... without permission.... I'm not there, but my son sent me a photo....

WIBU to put up those removable bollards as I'm pretty sure this is a regular occurrence?

yanbu. Just because you are not there doesn't make it right.

IB My DS is 14 and has a temper. He wanted to go out and tell her to move, but he's got me into trouble with other people before (not neighbours) because his mouth opens before his brain engages.....

WGME He died suddenly of a brain haemorrhage when I was nearly 6 months pregnant (she arrived early, unsurprisingly). My DS and I had been living here since 2000 and my OH (since 2006) died in 2007

BF That's what I'm finding hard to deal with....

duvet I won't go in all guns blazing, as I don't like confrontation, but I won't be taken advantage of like this......

I pm'd you OP.

You should write to her with the picture. Definitely!

This isn't OK, at all. If it was me in yours shoes I'd feel quite violated by someone doing what they liked in my garden and that's not what you need. Your home is your space and this is invasive.

Why do you think she's done it before?

squeakyfreakytoy · 26/10/2011 20:23

I would get some gates put up if you can. Its bloody cheeky! Different if you were friends or she had asked your permission, but to just do it is taking the piss.

HoorahHenrietta · 26/10/2011 20:24

I'd be furious. I have ongoing land disputes with a woman who lives a little way from me (quite rural). Parking on anybody's land is not only illegal but damn right fucking cheeky.

Slash her tyres Put a sign up saying "private property".

AKissIsNotAContract · 26/10/2011 20:31

Ok with the extra information you gave after my last post YANBU. Your neighbours sounds awful.

So sorry about your husband. If strangers on the Internet can care your neighbours should have been there for you.

HerdOfTinyElephants · 26/10/2011 20:36

Go on, do the barbecue thing...

JajasWjolef · 26/10/2011 20:41

OP, so sorry about your DH Sad.

I think it is unbelievably cheeky for her to do this, even in a place where all the neighbours are friendly I would still expect to be asked permission as a courtesy if somebody wanted to use my drive for anything.

zipzap · 26/10/2011 20:45

Was she using your water too?

Oh and you are dnbu - she is taking the proverbial.
