By pulling on to my own driveway? Grrrrrrr.

I live on a main road, and have a driveway which happens to be pretty narrow. This means I have to slow down to almost a stop, and do a wide sweeping turn into it (due to their often being parked cars). Having lived here for 3 1/2 years, I have had no problems with this, except for twice in the last 6 months, I have been beeped at by the driver behind me for daring to do such a thing! I even had one try to come along my left hand side mounting the kerb to try and pass me!!! Good job I am vigilant with my mirrors prior to turning the wheel!

Tonight someone beeped again, and I felt like getting out and asking them exactly how they would like me to drive so as not to inconvenience them for more than 2 seconds. Grrrrrr.

I slow down, position the car in the correct position to allow me to complete the turn as quick as possible, signal in plenty of time... so what is wrong with people?!

People are wankers.
My MiL was here in Essex this weekend. She said how arrogant & aggressive the driving is here compared to where she is.

Just carry on & do what you need to do.

But of you don't indicate on mini roundabouts I may come & beat you to death with your exhaust pipe. Wink

You are right MrsArch, however my driveway is simply too narrow for me to reverse on, there is approx 3 inches on each side of the wing mirror from the posts. Plus, who the frig is going to stop and let me reverse on? I'm happier taking my life in my hands by reversing off, and if something hits me, well, it would be my fault - clearly. I'd expect to take the blame (and the insurance hit!). That would be common sense surely?!

Anyway, glad I am not the only one with this problem. Some people just turn into knobs behind the wheel. And some are knobs before they even get near the wheel....

I think I'd definitely reverse in. Especially if it's a really narrow one...

Slowly.

Every single time.

I used to have to reverse into my drive and I lived next to a school. Used to be quite interesting.

At my parents' house I have to swing wide to turn left into the drive. Have often been beeped and once overtaken on the left (despite my indicating left).

I also live on a busy road with on street parking and sometimes have to parallel park, causing the traffic behind to fume with rage while they have to wait ... ooh ... 20 seconds max for me to do the manoeuvre.I do feel so much more flustered doing a parallel park with angry drivers watching me and I am far more likely to fuck it up Blush

I would just ignore it, and be careful not to let people rush you - how annoying if you got stressed and ended up causing an accident
