To wonder why on earth so many grown females don't know what they are?

If you identify yourself as a female and you are above the age of 18 then you are a womAn. Not a womEn.

1 woman
Many women.

AIBU to think that women should at least be able to identify themselves correctly?

Perhaps just a typo?

When Helen Reddy sang, "I am Woman," I think she actually meant it in the plural, similar to Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman."

Not unreasonable :-) though can't say I've encountered that much.

The thing that really irks me is things like "women drivers", "women firefighters" etc. I know some dictionaries accept "woman/women" as an adjective but it just sounds daft to me.

As my DD pointed out age 3 'My mummy is not a woman she is a lady' Thank you darling.
