i would stick pins in my eyes before i sent my kids to a place like that!!
I was watching it woth DS1 who is 16 and he was absolutely speechless at the lack of discipline and the immaturity of the pupils.
Where to start?

Why aren't they all seated in rows facing the front? They seem to be sitting clustered around tables like infants, .No wonder they don't concentrate and are disruptive.
The girls look like hookers with thick make up and very short skirts
If that was top set maths?? At 16 learning how to work out the area of a circle?? The teacher was uninspiring and unenthusiastic. And I had t laugh when it zoomed in on Carrie's so-called 9 GCSEs.She had b in English and |C in maths and that was it.the rest were btecs , functional skills, citizenship and crap that isn't worth the paper it's written on.

The head and deputy are twerps.Skating about in swivel chairs in the corridor, allowing the kids to snowball them. They try to be the kids mates rather than their role models. How can they command any respect?
Most of all allowing their pupils to appear on national television , making serious false allegations against staff, and sending abusive bullying texts.
And this is an ofsted outstanding school!!

I can't understand some of the reaction to this...
Personally I'd be more than happy to spend my children to a school where, like this, the teachers appear to demonstrate huge commitment and care to even the most difficult of children and where the kids of course test boundaries and have to be reminded of where they lie.
All teenagers will push at authority and I would far rather my children learnt how to adapt to being with a mixed bunch of peers and had teachers who cared about them than sat in a classroom of forward facing clones who have no spark or fun about them!
Really, come on people! Real life is full of "characters" and this show needs to be entertaining telly so it's not going to show probably the vast majority of pupils / lessons where good teaching and good behaviour goes on! Who'd want to devote an hour of their Thursday night to watching that?

'OP calling 14-16yo hookers is appaling,'
No If you read my post I said they look like hookers with their thick make up and short skirts

Yes, YABU

Whilst you might be well making a valid point in your OP, for me it's quite well hidden behind some very judgemental comments.

spiderpig8 · 24/10/2011 12:15

dotty- so should it be on at all? isn't it damaging the employment and educational opportunities of these youngsters showing their misdeeds on national TV. I mean, would you employ somebody who made an unfounded malicious claim thaqt someone in authority had assaulted her?.It is irresponsible broadcasting and irresponsible of the school to allow it to be shown.

i'm not sure that if I were an employer that I'd either remember some child filmed last year who probably looks very different now, or that I'd judge them on how they behaved "on camera". Judge people as you find them I think.....

OP - YAB a bit U. I was a bit shocked at first by the lairy behaviour (my kids are a bit younger) but actually I now think the staff are absolutely amazing - the patience they show on a daily basis, and the kindness. And the kids are just normal kids. I loved that "what is pi" bit - it brought home the fact that so many things you have to know at school are never ever used again - I think I knew what it was once, but I certainly can't remember!
