To put DS in a christening gown aged 8 months?

Oh I know it's personal choice yada yada but I'd like to know what you all think. Will he look a bit daft?

I know it's pretty unrelated but I always wanted to wear my veil over my face when walking down the aisle but was persuaded otherwise by well-meaning family members as it was 'old fashioned'. Always regretted it.

What do you reckon?

An 8 month old baby cannot look silly in anything"! He'll look gorgous.

We've just had our very active and wriggly 14 month old christening in H's family's antique christening robe. Honestly didn't occur to me for a moment that it might be silly to put her in it, was only worried that this beautiful Victorian robe made for skinny Victorian babies wouldn't fit our little toddler.
We did as others have suggested, and had another outfit for later. We ended up putting her into her alternative outfit as soon as the service ended, partly to save the gown, but also partly because she'd been sitting on people's laps throughout the service, and was SO desperate to wriggle down and start running about.
Do it! And don't worry what people think. I mean, generally, as well as in this.

I read this initially as aged 8. I was about to try and think of a way to say "Are you out of your mind Shock?"

8 months? Of course not! He's still a baby. Dress him in whatever you want and he'll look lovely.

Ahhh. Christening gown it is :) yippee! P.S. The embroidered name and date thing is beautiful. I would love to start that kind of tradition with our DS and go from there. P.P.S ha ha - eight year's old! That made me splutter my wine out.

Aww, he'll look gorgeous. I'm a bit envious as DH wouldn't let me put any of our boys in christening gowns.
