Not a fan of Carla Bruni, but my jaw just DROPPED when I read that here.

FFS. She only just gave birth yesterday.

I suspect President Sarkozy has a strong sense of déjà vu about newborns and, while he has many talents, I doubt being a helpful birthing partner is one of them. And Carla has plenty of help from other sources!

The baby needs a bib, the woman needs to lose weight (I didn't need a dieting book though Grin and was back to my pre-baby weight by the time my first born was 6 weeks old) and we planted a tree for both our children when they were born.

Catgirl, I seem to remember a similar piece of info in an article by Ms Di Giovanni in the evening standard (london).
