to think charlie and lolas parents are crap?

Who puts a 6yo in charge of a 3yo? Lola is very sick and Charlie wants to go and play with some friends but has to look after lola. Why is that his job? what happened to their parents.

So aibu or (as I suspect) am i getting too involved! :o

Horrid Henrys parents are worse. They need to look at themselves and wonder why Henry acts out so much! (and Perfect Peter needs a good slap in the mouth!)

YABU. Haven't you seent the Boden tags in their perfectly-matched clothes? They are helping them to develop a sense of responsibility and style. Much better than the helicopter parenting some parents resort to Angry

DD has recently deemed herself (at 4yo) to be too grown up for CBeebies and has migrated to CBBC, where I find myself asking exactly the same question about Dani. She's always left in charge of her younger brother and the parents appear to be thoroughly neglectful. I am, however, thinking that if DP & I bugger off on holiday and leave 4yo DD in charge of 3 month old DD, we could always blame the BBC and say we thought it was perfectly acceptable! Jezza Kyle would love it.

I love Charlie and Lola, it's the only one I don't mind seeing time and time again.

Totally right about the minging Numberjacks sofa though. And the Numbertaker gave dd nightmares.

Frankly those Waybuloos are freaky.

Their mum is in the flat with them though.

Charlie isn't in sole charge of Lola, she just wants him to entertain her even when their Mum offers to come and play.

Maybe we should start a petition to the BBC to get all bad parents off tv

Do you remember the Fimbles??? I could not be in the same room as the TV when the tinkling tree was shown. It was terrifyingly weird. Thank Goodness kids are now too old for it.

My daughter IS lola, its scary --possibly shouldn't have called her lola, she thinks she is the character on tv--

She will not ever not never eat a tomatoe!

I only wish ds would be more charlie like.... Instead I have to deal with her bizzare-ness!

See- rugrats for original lax parenting...

Or what about baby Jake's family where they have no concept of contraception and it appear that baby care is done by Issac age 3. Admittally there is a whole tribe in that windmill.

However what kind of mother would allow baby Jake to go off on adventures on his own.

I've always half wondered if Charlie and Lola is in fact a massive mind fuck and they have no parents and are in fact living in some sort of care home and pretending they have parents since you never (to my knowledge) actually see their parents...or Marv and Mortons... or Arnolds...and they all live together in a big building.
I'm just waiting for the big shocking twist to reveal it all in the end...

Well..obviously thats not true... but it means i can watch C&L and consider it a psychological thriller rather than a cartoon :o

In the first year of my son's life I wondered about the Iggle Piggle 'it's all a dream' thing...
In the second year of his life I wondered why steam engines have to be so bloody smug
In the third year I wondered why the citizens of Pencaster are so impressed with a postman who never delivers on time and has to get a helicopter out for the smallest delivery
In the fourth year I wondered where the hell are Charlie and Lola's mum and dad and should I be calling social services
In the fifth year I thought that Horrid Henry's family are the horrid ones and need family therapy
In the sixth year I discovered that I can put my ipod in one ear and listen to a podcast while pretending to watch TV with him.

And that put a stop to the matter.
