...to expect a Maclaren buggy to last me for two children?

3 years and about 6 months old and the release button has broken. Shouldn't something like a pushchair be reliable to see me through two young children. It has not been overly abused and is one of 3 that i use.

Contact them. Email them and say that it is broken, you thought you were buying a quality product which should last x amount of years. Its been treated well etc etc. I would expect it to last a couple of children especially if its use has been rotated!

Yep, should definately last for two, especially if it's not being used exclusively.

My Quest is onto it's third child and I've only had to replace an axle (the wheel was stood on) and the raincover.

maclaren are shogglie carts not fit for purpose
not 1 wean never mind 2
and they come in puddle grey as standard

Mine did two children without any problem and I've now passed it on to my sister for her new baby - still going strong. Contact them and see what they say.

Depends how many shopping bags you hang on the back. After 4 years with DS1 my wheels were completely worn down to the quick and looked worse than a pair of shoes that needed reheeling badly..

what is the waranty on it?

You can get spare parts though can't you? Remember if it were a Phil & Ted you'd probably have replaced a dozen bits and bobs by now.

thanks, am going to google ths comsumer act as think goods have to be fit for purpose which means for instance that it is reasonable to expect a pushchair not to break. But I will do some research as my memory is a bit vague on what is reasonable
