AIBU to expect my almost 13 year old son to clean up a bit after going?

I don't want to clean his skid marks,that he sometimes leaves.

I have taught him to wash/brush it away and spray a bit of glade.

Alright?

I don't want to scar him but, I don't think I should clean up after him at 13!

My step-Mom really doesn't mind, she cleans up after all 4 of my brothers and Dad! I don't fancy going down that path... If I discover a little something in the bowl I call him to fix it.
Plus,I think it is only fair he learns to take care of things, for any future people he may live with.

If I am being a mean Mom ,I will cease nagging him...promise :)

YANBU... don't just expect it, demand it, and if he doesn't learn fast, threaten to tell any friends he has or future girlfriends.

My 8 year old wipes the seat after himself and uses the loo brush if there's a splatter, so maybe YABU on allowing him to get to teendom before you tackled this, on the other hand, at 13 he should be doing it and at 8, maybe I'm mean. I am the only woman in this house so ALL the menfolk are trained to MY standards as I'm the one who actually cares about sitting on a clean loo... therefore my rule, rules.

No, YANBU. Teach him young. Also teach him the toilet paper trick for floaters. fold about 4 pieces of toilet paper and gently place on top of the offending floater so it completely covers the whole bowl. Then flush.

My dd is guilty of this and I bought her a toilet brush and cleaner as a stocking filler last Christmas
She remembers most of the time now.

This has only become a recent problem.

As a younger boy, there was no evidence in the bowl ...its only within the last year or so, that I have been greeted with a little reminder

I call my 10 YO DSS back to the toilet if there are pee splashes or skids everywhere. It's bad enough that's I'm the only one that cleans the toilet inbetween skids, let alone having to do that as well!
