I am still a bit nauseous about it. But I eat meat and wear leather so why?

! Shock

No not unreasonable. How horrible for you. Poor squizza.

YankNCock · 06/10/2011 16:52

Squirrels ate through my roof and woke me up every morning (when I was pregnant) with all their scratching and scrabbling about. Had to pay hundreds of pounds to take down the trees they used as access to the roof, plus more for fixing the roof. Furry bastards. I used to like them, but not after that.

5Foot5 · 06/10/2011 17:02

I don't think I would have cried or felt nauseous but I admit I would have been a bit shaken.

We had worse on holiday this year when we ran over a red squirrel! There really wasn't anything DH could do to avoid it as it ran right in front of us. He managed to miss it with the front wheels but unfortunately the back ones got it. It was our first morning and we had only just discovered that they still had red squirrels in that area so we did feel a bit bad about it.

ShroudOfHamsters · 06/10/2011 17:10

5Foot5 hope it was 'red squirrels' plural that they still had in that area Grin

YANBU. I ran over some ducklings on a country lane and sobbed my heart out. You have to notify the Police if you hit a dog or farm animal but not a cat. Anyone know why?

GrimmaTheNome · 06/10/2011 17:42

Farm animals have commercial value - passports etc, the owner will def need to know and is traceable.

I'm not sure if it still applies to dogs - I thought the difference was because you used to have to pay a licence for a dog.

Sleepglorioussleep · 06/10/2011 19:40

Jenai-no but I missed that on the bake off. Looked away at the critical moment and dh had to explain what was so funny! Although I guess it takes some b*s to step into the road...

Now I feel a bit Blush at potentially making light of my moment earlier. Poor squirrel. I'm sure he/she wasn't the one that did the bad stuff described earlier. Do you think the reds are trying to frame the greys?

oooh poor sleepgsleep, i cried when i saw a dead seagull in tact with a glearly broken neck the other day

Tortington · 06/10/2011 19:44

in fact, you didn't run over a seagull did you ? Grin

pastawine · 06/10/2011 19:46

yanbu.

some bastard hit a cat the other day and just left it lying there in the street. i stopped my car and picked it up and laid it on the other side of the road on a grass verge in case someone went looking for it. poor moggy.

accidents happen but i couldnt hit an animal and just drive off. i often drive on the motorway at night and get very uptight when bunnies hop down the fast lane....thats the only place i wouldnt stop if i hit something.
