I'm in the H's too and like Panache because the fit suits me. That's what I like about bravissimo, they know which styles and makes suit your individual shape. It does mean I have the same bra in a variety of colours though.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 05/10/2011 21:08

Brastop is bargainous for big bras and where I get all of mine from.

tyler80 · 05/10/2011 21:13

I could live with ugliness if they were cheap and I could live with the cost if they were pretty. But I really struggle handing over loads of money for bras that I don't even like all that much. Freya and fantasie bras look nice on the hanger but just don't fit, wrong shaped boobs or something Sad

sillybillies · 05/10/2011 21:57

another vote for bravissimo. To be honest when you're lugging around large breasts you need to pay money for some decent scaffolding. There's a much better selection now than there used to be but dainty pretty little bras just don't do the job. (32 J by the way). I like the shop Leia in bluewater too as they have a similar standard of fitting service to bravissimo and reasonably good range of larger bras.

havinhoops1974 · 05/10/2011 22:01

Try having big cup size and a very broad back. . no hope!

Oh I hear you, big problem with cheap ones

You are not looking hard enough! In the past 10 years the market for DD+ has expanded MASSIVELY (as have our chests obviously!).

I'm a 34G, I buy from Bravissimo and Figleaves mainly. Debenhams also have a fairly good range. Even ASOS stocks some. Rigby and Peller also.

The only problem is, you will not get a cheap bra, unless you go for Debenhams own, which IMO are not well fitting. M&S are shit, full stop.

Try www.leialingerie.com/outlet/lingerie.aspx which is the online outlet for Freya, Fantasie and several others

devonshiredumpling · 05/10/2011 22:16

i get mine from evans as they have good bras and matching knickers and not a granny set in sight

notapizzaeater · 05/10/2011 22:36

cmt1375 - brilliant - just been on a shopping spree, very hard to find nice bras in 36 J

MedusaIsHavingABadHairDay · 05/10/2011 22:39

My 17 yr old DD2 is a 28 HH/J cup... try finding anything cute in a J cup with a 28 back:( Even Bravissimo are very limited an as for finding a bikini... argh!!

The irony is I'm an A cup.. I swear she was swapped at birth Grin

notapizzaeater · 05/10/2011 22:44

That Leia one above has a 28J in stock £8.40 as well ...

CocktailQueen · 05/10/2011 22:49

Well, ffs, there are plenty of choices - Bravissimo, M&S, Panache, La Senza..... if you have big boobs you need to spend some £££ in making them look nice and hoiked up!!

GwendolineScaryLacey · 05/10/2011 22:57

No there aren't plenty of choices. I regularly spend hours looking online for bras. Colours are revolting, most are underwired and nearly all are balcony types which are not supportive enough for me. I want normal bras in a soft cup in some funky colours, not an elephant's ear in a bun. Surely not that much to ask.

I just stick with the one Fantasie style that "fits" best - I know I can order the same size and it will fit when it arrives. The ordering 3 or 4 of a new brand, trying them on, faffing about if they don't fit etc etc etc is just too much like hard work :( When one starts to wear out it gets relegated to "the one for when the new one hasn't dried in time after being washed" and I buy a new one and take the wires out as soon as it arrives. I have gone past the days of wanting Madonna like perfect cones at right angles to my body and just want to be contained, held relatively still, and not have my nipples at or below waist level when I'm out and about. I do begrudge paying nigh on £40 and postage to then take the wires out, but I am too "unvain" now to want to be in that much pain and discomfort for the sake of a inch or so of "boost" so out they come.
Every so often I do get lucky on ebay and find the bra in the size and get one for much less cost which is nice - they often have colours I really like too - I think they're probably the colours nobody else wants, like bright purple or lurid blue but they do for me Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 05/10/2011 23:16

There is not that much choice - they are mostly balcony.

Im a 36J and I want t shirt bras. Bought some online ilffom m and s last week.

They are fucking padded!!! Who needs 36J's padded ?!?!

Doitnicelyplease · 06/10/2011 01:14

I hate bra shopping with a passion (38 DD), find it very hard to find the right size/shape even within the same brand.

But after trying on about 20+ bras in the limited time I had I now have two lovely new ones.

Spent all day yesterday with the 'ahhh lovely new bra feeling' which made it worth it.

(also realized that the M&S ones I have been wearing for the past year have been really uncomfortable)

The only bra's I will wear are the Doreen one's by Triumph. They are so, so comfortable I love them. No more sore boobs, backaches and wire cutting in. I used to be agony most days. I have had the same one for maybe 3 years now and they are great.

But they are not exactly sexy, and they limit the choice of tops and dresses I can wear as they come up very high over the neckline with thick straps

If only they would make some prettier ones all my problems would be solved!

AnnaBegins · 06/10/2011 22:39

YANBU, I've suggested this site www.braffinity.co.uk before on here, they have some nice bras all in bigger cup sizes and quite cheap, I really like them anyway. I think you have to look harder for nice bigger bras but they certainly do exist!

MedusaIsHavingABadHairDay · 06/10/2011 23:28

Notapizzaeater.... thanks! I've just ordered that for my daughter:):)

Claw3 · 06/10/2011 23:44

I have big bust and small back, very limited choice. La Senza have the only limited range i have been able to find.

BerylStreep · 06/10/2011 23:45

Prima Donna are great prima Donna. Rugby and pellar do them, but are pricey at about £70.

Bare necessities usually have them in their sale at vastly reduced prices.
