AIBU, or is the price of photos high?
All the above swimming groups around my way charge£8-11 per half hour session, so not cheap but small classes warm pool etc we signed up to one of them and were advised they do the underwater photos at end of each term
They look fab but have been advised cost is £30 per shoot and photos start from £25 for 1 7x5 image, so min £55 for a photo of baby underwater
AIBU to think this is alot - and on fact no where let's you take cameras in any more?
They look amszing

Oops hadn't finished!! (using app version for first time)
I know there are costs but was suprised that based on the time slots they have it's a min of £165 per hour (though a canvas is £350 so could be alot more)
... Or am I being mizz and should find the cash to have a go, have you done it and photos well worth it?

Nope you are not- I think that those things are a total rip off, and preying off a captive market because they know you can't take photos of your kids swimming! Bloody daylight robbery - worse than those dudes at pixie photo....the only way I would be thinking that sort of cash is reasonable is if they had drafted in David Bailey to take the shots (I'm assuming they haven't).

Paid £45 for the shoot. It was a disaster! DD was in group of tiny babies. She was 2 at the time. They made no effort to co ordinate sessions. She was grumpy and fed up of not being able to do jumping in etc. Didn't want / was too big for straight down submersion. The camera is huge and she said looked like a spider (has lever arms!), it freaked her out and she is usually fairly unflappable and brill in the water.

Trekked to MK (1 hr away) to see the photos as that was the only way to view them. They were crap yet the pressure to buy was immense (not that I did!). Have seen some great baby shots alla nirvana but for a toddler the experience was scary.

We loved Waterbabies but didn't do the shoots as the photos were a total con, so yanbu.

But we were allowed to take as many pics as we wanted at classes.

I wouldn't bother with baby swimming tbh, take your child swimming yourself weekly or fortnightly and talk to other people that you meet there. Same benefits for what £3-4? The reason nowhere lets you take cameras is that there are lots of other peoples semi naked children, fair enough imo.
