Still can't believe the attitudes of some of the people that posted on there - jealousy, much? Though how they can be jealous when all their family have good health is beyond me. I don't have a blue badge, but started the thread with thoughts of my friend that does in mind. Why do these posters only see what someone else has got that they haven't (free parking) instead of seeing what they have got that a blue badge holder doesn't (no disabilities).

what happened to being empathetic towards others?

CardyMow · 30/09/2011 22:17

Sevenfold - I did wonder if your name was alluding to the group, but felt a twit for asking in case there was some random 'other' menaing for the name IYSWIM?

These threads really need to come with a disclaimer! Or younget the testy and negative people like me jumping in with our boots of negativity!

Glad it's not for real however as I am supposed to be going to bed soon, not getting into another Internet ruckus.

Flamingredhead · 01/10/2011 05:27

Wow there all out tonight . Does make me laugh that they ate jealous of our so called perks yet when called on it they admit they don't want the problems/ disabilities that go with it

Catslikehats · 01/10/2011 06:03

FWIW I posted on the one that hunty started and it wasn't my intention to start/perpetuate a bun fight so I apologise if my posts did that. I don't usually post on "disability threads" but I aknow Waverley so it caught my attention.

I didn't go back to it as it became apparant there were some posters asking the same question as me whose views were not those that I would endorse or want to be associated with.

It genuinely hadn't occurred to me about the equality having to make the outcome equal, but the posters on that thread who weren't rude taught me something. I am genuinely grateful. I suppose my perception of disability is skewed by the fact that the most severely disabled person I know is also one of the most sucessful (and wealthy) and I find it very difficult to reconcile my view of him with the view that he is disadvantaged and must be protected.

I thought it could have been an interesting discussion but for the fact that it was totally hijacked by unpleasantness on both sides.

Anyway apologies if I offended anyone.
