Or do others do it too?

This is my 3rd name (over the year) I've been here..

Its strange name changing ...someone I gave big support to (under my old name) crossed with me dramatically when I was in my 2nd name phase.

Funny really ,it went from grateful supportive PM's to scritchy exchanges! Grin

I'm staying as Feminine now though.

I don't namechange. I probably could if I could come up with another name I liked but my current name was my one and only flash of inspiration I think, never to be repeatedGrin

I have posted some personal details which would make me recognisable to anyone that already knew me iyswim but nothing I would be concerned about.

I deliberately never talk about my job, I would be concerned if anyone at work could identify me and link me to comments about my job iyswim. Not sure why, just don't feel it would be very professional.

I don't name change, but then I don't say much of interest either. I don't quite get all the fuss about being "outed" though. Some other sites I read/post on have a real name policy which never bothered me. Maybe it would If I posted innermost secrets.

I do think that Mumsnet naming policy and the freedom to namechange without re-registering is part of what makes it what it is, for better or worse.

Yes, this is my 5th name on MN. Another one who feels like I know loads about people here whereas they don't know me.

It's not so much being 'outed', but someone realising who you are and then knowing your opinion on everything from various babies' names, to whether or not children should be invited to weddings, to whether or not leggings are stylish or hideous, to the rights and wrongs of abortion and every minutiae in between. Grin

I just doesn't feel right people maybe realising who I am and then being privy to my inner most opinions.

I have recognised people on here, even after name changes, from other forums I've used in the past and am quite amazed at the level of detail they're prepared to divulge, right down to health problems, things that have happened to them, where they've live, their child/ren's names...

Again, it's not that I expect people will use info against me Grin just that they'll be able to know what I think about anything and everything.
