Lawn is covered in fungus again and I'm fed up of it! We have trees all around so all the leaves and roots feed the fungus and I've no idea how to kill it without some sort of chemical attack. Neither fungus nor chemicals are great with a toddler around.

I'm sure it would be a little bit better if we raked or mowed a bit more but I daren't mow with a toddler around and at the moment either he's awake or it's dark. And it rains all bloody weekend.

Rant over, but has anyone managed to clear their lawn of fungus?

I've "reverse landscaped" my garden - taken out the beds and turfed / paved over them. Added a couple of secure gates to fence off some steep steps too so I can relax when the toddler is poddling about.

I didn't quite go as far as astroturf but whatever makes you likely to use the garden is a good thing.

I have a corner where there's a steamer chair under some ropey honeysuckle on the fence and a few potted pretties where I sit, other than that it is now a useful and useable space - absolute joy to run around/laze around in, and I can maintain it with mower, strimmer and jetwasher.

I just got so fed up of feeling guilty about not weeding out the interminable couch grass and the beds were full of cat and fox poo too so weeding was horrible anyway. I'm not one of nature's gardeners, and don't have much spare time to maintain a garden.
