I hate it. I think it is a awful mis-use of the word rape.

Clearly having someone post on your facebook account is not anyway near comparable to the act of rape.

I have never been raped but can imagine how it might feel to see 'someone fraped me, Ha Ha, aren't you funny!' to someone who has been a genuine victim of rape.

I also hate to hear people describing some minor set back as rape. I have heard people describe losing a darts match/having to pay more than they wanted for something etc as being raped.

Have they no respect for the true meaning of what it is to be raped and how truely awful it is to compare it to something so mundane.

I understand the similarity with 'I could murder a cuppa' but how many people would say that to the family of a murder victim? probably not many. yet it is okay to use the word frape in public on the internet where you don't know if there is someone who has been a victim of rape as most women (or men) don't make this public knowledge

Lots of people say on the internet "I could murder a drink" Confused

What about the thread killing thread on here? Using a word that can denote a serious crime that people could be sensitive to, on a very public forum. Why should 'rape' be ring-fenced?
I think while 'frape' is a bit immature, it is nonetheless an apt description: a facebook violation. Nobody said Dreams wasn't allowed to start a thread, I just pointed out it has been discussed at length here in the past month or two so we're just beating a dead horse here (another example of using 'serious' words in a different context which doesn't generally cause offense).

You get a Professionally Offended Badge

Being offended seems to be a full time job for some folk- with the internet, they have an endless supply of source material. Then there's all the overtime you have to put in complaining about the stuff you're offended by. Life must have been a lot easier when they just had to write letters to the BBC or their local council.
Anyway, the off license is about to close and I could kill for a beer......
