Not happy with cleaner

Moved into our house a few months ago and previous owner was very good friends with the neighbour who also cleaned weekly for her, so when we moved in as i was going back to work thought it would be a good idea to ask her if she wanted to carry on, which she did. Neighbour is a lovely lady and we often chat over the fence

The house is a small 2 bed terraced. (2 receptions and kitchen downstairs and 2 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs)

We usually ask her to do 2 1/2 hours and always say to her i would like her to do bathroom and kitchen and hoover all rooms and then dust if anytime left. Always make sure house is clutter free before she comes in and generally have a bit of a clean during the week so it's not a particularly dirty house

We went out whilst she was here this morning and have just come home. It looks like the only room that has been cleaned downstairs is the kitchen. (although Kitchen workflow, tiles behind the cooker, fridge door not been wiped etc) Neither reception rooms or hall have been hoovered and no dusting. Upstairs bathroom all clean and hoovering done, also our room has been dusted but not DD (also DDs room has a large rug which has been hoovered round and not under)

So i guess what im asking is am i expecting her to do to much in 2 1/2 hours or is she taking the piss? She charges £10ph

I would drop her, say that your circumstances have changed and you cannot afford it anymore.

Whereabouts in East London? I have an excellent cleaner who lives in Leyton, I live in Woodford. I live in a spacious flat with one bed and 2 receptions and she cleans it top to bottom in 2 hours a week, £10 an hour. PM me if you want me to give you her details?

YADNBU. Our cleaner (also £10 per hour) vacuums, dusts, cleans bathroom and kitchen, mops kitchen floor and tiled hallway every week; and cleans inside windows and oven every few weeks. It usually takes around 2 hours 15 minutes, but she only charges us for 2 hours. It's a three bed, Victorian house (so large rooms etc) and we have a lot of mess clutter.

We did have a long conversation with her before we employed her about what we wanted her to do, how long it would take, etc etc and some weeks (they make me Blush) she says she's only going to be able to do upstairs or downstairs, but she clears that with us first.

Sounds like you need a long chat with her.

Bloody Hell Choc aint half the population of East London cleaners? Either that or they work in Fords down the A13!

I did some cleaning for some rich folks once, i was skint, me mate who was their cleaner needed help. These peoples conservatory was bigger than my whole flat at the time, they oooooozed money...but when I went to iron his PJ's (iron his PJ's FFS that says it all) they stank of pee.
I thought well for all yer money yer a dirty little pisspot aintcha.
