... To throw away all of the children's clothes and replace with one wipe clean plastic suit each?

... Because I have spent all day washing, sorting, putting away said clothes, re organising drawers etc and I am fucking fed up to see the wash basket is full again.

You are a genious!

babynamesgrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 23/09/2011 14:48

imagine peaches and dirt mashed in to the crevises of a suit you have to manually clean.

and then thank god (or bosch) for your washing machine.

Andrewofgg · 23/09/2011 14:51

Why only the children's clothes? Why not the adults' too?

5inthebed is right.

BikingViking · 23/09/2011 14:51

...with one wipe clean plastic suit - with a cloth attached (stretchy bit of elastic maybe?) so that they even clean it themselves as and when they care needed Wink

BikingViking · 23/09/2011 14:52

Actually yes, I could probably do with one of those myself always sometimes Blush

shelfy74 · 23/09/2011 14:54

They could stand in the garden at the end of the day and be hosed down. Or, if cold, stand in shower. I mean, it wouldn't be a social services issue! And DP too, yes.

The DCs or the suits or both?

thisisyesterday · 23/09/2011 14:57

buy lots and lots of these
they're disposable so you wouldn't even have to clean them!

shelfy74 · 23/09/2011 14:58

The dcs in the suits. It would save on bath time.

BikingViking · 23/09/2011 15:00

Liking it more and more. You could even build a sort of wooden slatted platform to put just over the flowerbed so that water dripping down could water the plants... That's environmentally, that is

shelfy74 · 23/09/2011 15:00

Thisisyesterday, I love the White jumpsuit thing. My kids would look like crime scene Investigators. DP would look like he was being held in a special wing of the prison on dirty protest.

Anyone remember The Goodies?

They had a sketch which involved automated getting up. Tim Brooke-Taylor had all his clothes on one zip-up item. He had a chicken in the bedside cabinet which provided an egg; a button which turned on the radio; and when it played Jimmy Young a hammer which smashed it to fragments.

Fillybuster · 23/09/2011 15:02

Love the idea but I think you'd need more than one.

Even zipped into it, and with no removable parts, at least one of my dcs would manage to 'lose' theirs on a daily basis...Hmm

Andrewofgg · 23/09/2011 15:03

Once again I ask: the DCs or the suits or both?

Behave, Andrew!

babynamesgrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 23/09/2011 15:07

you know you are missing the obvious answer here?

Move to a nudist colony. Then hose the kids down at the end of the day and you don't even have to throw away their hazmat suits

whackamole · 23/09/2011 15:07

Fucking brilliant idea.

I am off to purchase 2 Regatta suits from eBay now.

OTheHugeRaveningWolef · 23/09/2011 15:09

You could turn up the heating, tile the whole inside of the house and let them run around in the nip all day. Then all you have to do is put them in the bath and sluice the floors down at bedtime before you can take to the bottle with a clean conscience (and floors, and children).

RedRubyBlue · 23/09/2011 15:12

They could just be naked under a shower curtain poncho. No crevices to clean either.

Squitten · 23/09/2011 15:14

Is there some kind of solution for the baby versions Internal leakage issues...

shelfy74 · 23/09/2011 15:23

The entirely tiled house would work for babies, as long as you were happy without furniture, or willing to tile it.

Wipe-clean furniture hung from the ceiling?

It's a look whose time has come. Grin

TiggyD · 23/09/2011 15:30

With babies you would just need a waterproof suit with legs and arms that were....'water' tight. Maybe with a type of bicycle clip on the bottom. Once a week when the baby's suit resembles a ball, you unclip the legs in the wet room and stick a hosepipe in the top to flush it out.

TheProvincialLady · 23/09/2011 15:33

The simple answer would be to fit every room in your house with a massive room sized dishwasher. Then once a day at 7pm simply set it going. Everyone and everything gets washed, rinsed and dried.

OTheHugeRaveningWolef · 23/09/2011 15:58

Ooh Provincial I like your style Grin

RedRubyBlue · 23/09/2011 15:59

Move into your local swimming baths after they have emptied it for cleaning.

Squatters rights!
