DH despereate for another baby.
I am too.
But
im 41, had my 6th mc last month. Told by Liverpool reoccuring mc clinic that they cant help, cant do anything and that i am likely to continue to have mcs.

Told them at work, that we are no longer trying. DH also thinks that we are no longer trying. Family all told we are no longer trying.

But we are, not really trying like we were, just not doing anything to not get pregnant.

I am just struggling to come to terms.
BTW its very unlikely to happen as it took us almost 2 years to get pregnant last time.
Sad

Devon - I was just about to suggest dr shehata to the OP. I have him to thank for my two DD's

OP might be worth your whole seeing Dr S as he tests for many things that NHS tests don't cover.

EightiesChick · 19/09/2011 22:33

OP, I would guess this has been checked, but have you definitely been tested for blood clotting problems and got a negative on that? Aspirin is often talked about for this but there are stronger measures that can be taken, ie full-on anticoagulants, which can sustain a pregnancy in women who have clotting disorders. I would always encourage anyone with repeated miscarriages to check this out. In any case, I feel for your situation and think YANBU to feed everyone a line that gets them to back off.

milkyways · 19/09/2011 22:35

I am really sorry for your losses, how awful. YANBU, as I said the same to close family members who were "waiting" for the next baby.

Have you had your vitamin D levels checked during your testing? I suffered 4 miscarriages and was diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency, was treated and am now 24 weeks pregnant. I also agree with the posters who recommend Dr Shehata for NK Cell testing.

Meant to say as well - I was 43 when finally conceived and delivered thanks to Dr Shehata. I wish I had found him sooner but better late than never I always say. Good luck with whatever decisions you make.

HerbWoman · 19/09/2011 23:54

Have you also been tested for coeliac as this can be associated with fertility problems and recurrent miscarriage?

MissMap · 20/09/2011 12:57

Giggle I know its no help saying I am sorry, but I truely am. Years ago when I had mcs lots of people sidled up to me and whispered that the same thing had happened to them. It did not make me feel any better but I suppose I realised that I was not alone in my problem.

Just a thought, but a cousin of mine kept having mc, the medics could not find a cause. Eventually she was diagnosed to be celiacs ie could not digest gluten. Amazingly it was this that was causing her problems.

Take care.
