I am very very proud of myself, I've been working up to this for a while knowing once I managed the 48 hours I would not go back.

Here I am having done the 48 hours.

lollilou... Buy YOURSELF a present to show yourself how proud you are of you. It's your achievement, your money that will be saved.

The Allen Carr book is incredible, the best tool out there I think.

LizaTarbucksNonSmokingAuntie · 20/09/2011 13:02

lolli - don't even think about the next trip to the pub, because by the time you get there you'll be over the cravings....

You're doing amazingly well, keep at it, you can do this, you really can

northernrock · 20/09/2011 13:59

I have given up before, the longest time was a year, and although I could drink wine at home without wanting one, the pub was really hard.
Having said that, now you have to go outside. Think how smug we will feel when it is snowing out and all the addicts are shivering out there!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 20/09/2011 14:01

I never felt smug, Northernrock, I was just so relieved that I didn't smoke anymore.

northernrock · 20/09/2011 15:59

I will TOTALLY feel smug Wink

norriscoleforpm · 20/09/2011 16:04

end of day four nearly and haven't cracked, despite being at home all day with a dd who actually wasn't ill in the end but who i couldn't take to school as she had been sick! grr. I have been, variously, a cat, a unicorn, an artists assistant and a slave today...I need WORK Grin. I'm still seeing ds' with tears in his eyes saying 'why do you keep breaking your promise ?' when I want one - and treated myself to some anti aging fancy cream stuff, instead of cigarettes when I dragged 'poorly' dd out shopping earlier. Am v proud as indeed we must all be

LizaTarbucksNonSmokingAuntie · 20/09/2011 18:06

well done well done well done!

youarekidding · 20/09/2011 19:28

Just going to do the ironing - unheard of on a weekday but need to use my hands for something useful.

Keep going girls we CAN do this.

norriscoleforpm · 20/09/2011 19:40

Go US go US go US Smile

norriscoleforpm · 21/09/2011 13:12

DAy 5 and felt a bit grumpy this morning. Dreamt, amongst other freaky things Shock that I was smoking but knew I shouldn't be, and woke up really wanting one....however, am not giving in..... Is anyone else using NRT? I have the inhalator which I find really useful just to suck on (oo er missus) and fiddle about with Grin. Hope everyone is doing well today.

lollilou · 21/09/2011 14:36

Still holding on by my fingernails! Some days are harder than others. Today is a hard day.

LizaTarbucksNonSmokingAuntie · 21/09/2011 16:05

norriscoleforpm · 21/09/2011 18:09

SmethwickBelle · 21/09/2011 22:06

Hope you're all still going - well done LTA for getting through a very stressful day without them, sorry to hear about your gran.

If your sense of smell is returning chances are you're at the point where food starts tasting AMAZING.

LizaTarbucksNonSmokingAuntie · 22/09/2011 09:42

Hope everyone is still going strong - or at least still determined to get there one way or another...still looking good here, am still very proud of myself day 6 I gave up smoking a week ago tomorrow...yay me!

northernrock · 22/09/2011 12:30

Urrgh. Feeling quite dizzy and nauseous. I only smoked about 6 a day..is this normal? (I am on day 2)

lollilou · 22/09/2011 14:03

Yes northernrock I felt dizzy and sick for the first few days. Still getting cravings after a week apparently this is all psychological according to my DS.

LizaTarbucksNonSmokingAuntie · 22/09/2011 14:38

I didn't know that about the nausea - feel much better for knowing it. Northernrock it gets easier from here on in because you've done the first two days...
