For wanting to tell SIL to fuck right off with her splashes of milk?

SIL has gotten into the habit of saying "a splash of milk". She never used to say this so I can only assume she's heard it on some cooking program or something and thinks it makes her sound classy. I have tolerated it for a few weeks but I don't think she's going to stop saying it and it's REALLY irritating!!

"Do you mind if I get DS a splash of milk?"
"oo just a splash of milk in mine please!"
"a splash of milk usually sorts out my heart burn".

AIBU to think this is a god awful phrase??

thisisyesterday I forgive you... I say 'goshdarnit' for goodness sake, and I make jam, and have been known to say 'super'.

I'm not posh, I simply wanted to use words other than 'fucking hell', make gin and say 'fucking awesome'..... Blush

YANBU. Tell her to fuck off. Go on. And then come back and tell us what happens Grin

Tell her she's got a soupcon more than a 'splash'.
Or: "Not sure if that's a full splash - it's more of a spit, really..."
Then offer her a 'hunk of cake' as "Poor Mr Biccy Tin's empty today" "Clean as Mr Jack Spratt's platter, see?" Wink

MIL asks all the effing time if she should get ds2 a "dropofwater" (note one word status) because he looks thirsty. Ffffs. If he's thirsty a sodding drop won't help. Get him some water or just a drink, a drop won't help you ridiculous woman.

She also can't pronounce mushrooms. In her world they are MUSHRUMS. AAAAAAARRRGGH

Tchootnika · 15/09/2011 22:03

Tell her, red: tell her to bring him a hearty draft, ffs!
And call 'em shroooooms loudly and proudly.
Wait no longer!

Oh I do feel cleansed after that. Thanks Tchootnika, I almost feel like you've heard my confession and given me a few hail marys.

Can anyone do anything now to rid me of the blue waffles, munting and seagulling images that another thread has left indelibly imprinted on my brain...
