To wonder why badgers get such a rough deal?

Noticed lately that there have been a few badgerist remarks and I'm not happy about it. 'Rough as a badger's arse' was one. Badger bottoms are very soft and smooth actually.

'Mad as a badger locked in a wardrobe' was another. My badger is always very quiet and sensible when locked away in the Naughty Wardrobe. He knows he's done wrong and accepts his punishment.

All I'm saying is, give badgers a chance!

Sorry I haven't read the whole thread but I wanted to say that I love your threads SayCool - sunshine on a rainy day they are.

This thread is yet another example of the disgraceful and largely unchallenged mustelidophobia on MN.

I once rescued a baby badger that had got lost and took him/her back to the badger holes....I had to wrap it up in a jumper because they have very sharp teeth and claws. As far as I recall it did have a very soft arse and was bloody cute.

Aw thanks Elderberries :o

I try to bring some comic relief.

But you haven't mentioned your thoughts on badgers

Though having looked up badgers, I discover they're part of the same animal family as weasels Shock

I will never look at those cute black-and-white-stripy TB carrying bundles of bitey cuteness in the same way again Sad

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 12/09/2011 17:14

Sssh.... We don't talk about the weasels...

I still maintain that badgers are arseholes.

I nearly broke my leg falling into a badger hole once. Was positive the hole hadn't been there before, think the badger saw me coming and quickly dug it whilst snickering to itself.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 12/09/2011 17:23

Don't be ridiculous. Obviously you pissed him off by treading on his home. The poor downtrodden badger!

If badgers are in fact arseholes, that might shed some light on the phrase 'rough as a badger's arsehole'.

Though that would mean it translates as 'rough as an arsehole's arsehole'.

Does my arsehole have an arsehole?

Confused
Lizcat · 12/09/2011 17:50

Because they are grumpy, biting bastards who always bite the vet who is trying to help them.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 12/09/2011 17:56

Usually because the vet's trying to shove something up the poor badger's arsehole! I would bite the vet too!
