DD wants a McDonalds party

Im quite happy to have it there, now sure how other parents are going to feel?

Would you allow your DC to go to a McDonalds party?

I do not want to go ahead with it, without advice? DD would be heart broken if nobody turned up

Yes, I would. And I might be in the minority but I would be Hmm if people didn't turn up because it was Maccies. They do fruit n everything now.

There may be some that turn up their noses at the prospect of their child enjoying a hamburger and chips but can't imagine it would be very many.

You would have to be pretty po faced to not allow your child to go to that. I remember my friend having one when I was 6 - thats the point I still remember it 30 years later it was that good Grin

I think it just depends on what her friends parents are like - and only you can guess that one! I'd have had no problem having one for DS, but there seem to be a lot of MN parents who might have issues. That's more about the typical demographic of MN than about parents in general though.

Yes definitely. I think she went to one when she was 3 or 4 in fact.

Frankly with a lot of awful cheap and shoddy food I've seen at children's parties, either chosen and served up by the parents, or at soft play places, McDs would be an improvement.

(so long as it wasnt a 1 or probably a 2 year olds party)

Birthdays are special and fun, and a time when you can eat sugar and processed crap and not feel guilty.

If you cant have McD's on your birthday, when can you?

any pfb mummies can get their child to have water / milk (or even orange juice Shock) and some carrot sticks or a fruit bag etc.... which isnt going to kill or malnorish their PFB as part of the weekly balanced diet they feed their child

I think people are too precious about McDonalds. As long as you are not eating them every day there is no problem. I would have no problem with my child attending a party there. Ds loves when you go to McDonalds abroad and they have soft play inside them.

Yes I would, and sort of am. DD! is 9 on Friday, and on Sat we are taking her and a few friends to waterworld followed by lunch at McDonalds. Nobody has had a problem with it.

yes theres probably a lot less salt/ crap in their food than normal kids party stuff. Plus I love maccy d's parties!

How old is she? If she's school age I'd imagine most parents would be fine, they'd probably get much crappier food at a soft play party, or sports centre. Or is that just our local ones?

For a 5th birthday part I held it at home but sent my dp out to the drive thru for Happy Meals. At pick up the parents laughed and thought it was a great idea. I put some cherry toms and grapes out, but apart from that no prep, and no mess.

It's a PARTY!!!

I am not sure if they still do them at our local Maccy D's. My DD is a student and has worked there for 2 years and never mentioned it,but def would have no issue with any of my kids attending. I know it's fast food,but they do make an effort to do healthy options.

It was pretty normal when mine were in primary to have a party there after they had been to the pictures or bowling (all on the same complex)

I would go. Most party food is pretty crappy and its only one meal.

HeadfirstForHalos the WaterWorld in Stoke? McDonalds will be heaven compared to the food there!

Oh yeah...it's a party. No different to bowling with food afterwards or swimming with food, etc etc. Pizza Hut parties seem to be the thing to have at the moment.

Yes.

In fact dd1 went to one when she was 4 and all she would eat was the fruit salad and fresh orange juice. Because at that point she was eating enough to keep a fuzzy knat alive and wouldn't eat chicken/burgers or chips and didn't like fizzy drinks.

My DD is 10 now, but for the past six years she's been begging for an Uncle Ronnie the fat bastard party. One day my love, one day. That's what I tell her.
I would have no hesitation in letting her go.

I'd rather they went to McD's than pizza hut with all that greasy pepperoni and layers of cheese... Not to mention the handfuls of crisps and oreos that normally make up party food.

DDs 5th birthday involved 30 kids with happy meals after the water park and there wasn't a whisper of anyone not being happy...
