.. two photcopied Bratz dolls illustrations. She has labouriously felt-tipped their trout pouts, stripper heels, crop tops and fishnets. Oh, and the crucifix that one has draped around her cheekily out-thrust hips.

Was there any chance they had wet play or something so it wasn't the teacher whohnded them out?
Also now thinking I hope I didn't offend any if the parents when I gave Bratz Christmas crackers to the children in my class one year Blush

barbarianoftheuniverse · 07/09/2011 14:22

Alas, the teacher will probably say, "Fluffy bunnies were on offer. As were flowers, landscapes, hot air balloons and various forms of expensive fast transport (for the boys). Illustrations from Brain Surgery for Six Year Olds were there for the taking. Your daughter chose Bratz. We have to cater for all levels. What does it say about you?"

fluffy I always avoid things like Bratz whn buyinig gifts for DDs friends...many are ok but some are not.

Wet play or not...hese are no ok for school time. NO way. There a thousands of more suitable images for them to colour online.

Omg RagDoll !!!!! Did you say anything????

MumblingRagDoll · 07/09/2011 14:25

Barbarian I would just argue that levels don't come into it...those things are not ok for school. What's wrong with animals? Houses? FLowers and birds?

SexualHarrassmentPandaPop · 07/09/2011 14:26

I really feel for teachers reading threads like this. They must have to deal with so many complaints that really don't matter.
I don't think Bratz/Barbies sexualise children at all. They have boobs so are presumably supposed to be adults.
Maybe some people should have a think about what they are teaching their kids about the 'types' of women that dress a certain way. My sister wears stiletto heels and quite revealing clothing on a night out. She's not a stripper - she works in a factory.

MumblingRagDoll · 07/09/2011 14:26

Belle just couldn't. She was about to retire and was under loads of stress with personal issues...she would have cracked if I''d turned up yelling about penis worksheets! Grin

MumblingRagDoll · 07/09/2011 14:29

Sexxualharraassment

Yeah whatever. Like I WANT my DDs playing with adult dolls!! Especially ones that look like porn stars.

SexualHarrassmentPandaPop · 07/09/2011 14:31

Porn stars cos they have heels on and revealing clothes???? What do you wear on a night out? A burkha?

MumblingRagDoll · 07/09/2011 14:34

What has what I wear got to do with dolls having breasts and lipgloss?

I bet you LOVE Toddlers and Tiaras eh Panda? Can just see you now...

"Oh but the little hun looks SO cuuuuttte in her Prozzie outfit!"

Insomnia11 · 07/09/2011 14:35

Meh Biscuit

Hullygully · 07/09/2011 14:35

I think it is much more effective to simply poke fun: goodness darling, what beautiful colouring, but look at the ridiculous lady, what an odd shape she is and what strange lips, no real women look like that, do they? etc etc

Callisto · 07/09/2011 14:36

Do women have to wear either heels and revealing clothes or a burkha on a night out now? Confused

I loathes Bratz and would certainly mention that they are unsuitable for colouring in pictures.

SexualHarrassmentPandaPop · 07/09/2011 14:38

Because I presume you also have breasts and perhaps even wear lipgloss. Are you a bad influence on your kids? Are you a slut?

Nice straw man argument though rag doll. FYI you can disagree that revealing clothing equals slut without wanting to see that clothing on a child.

MillyR · 07/09/2011 14:38

In addition to all their other charms, there is something very disturbing about the fact that Bratz have removable feet.

The creepy foot element put DD off them, so we never needed to go through the whole sexualisation issue over Bratz dolls.

ThePerfectShitStorm · 07/09/2011 14:38

No I can't do it for you, Lindsay, I would probably cry because I hate confrontation, and that would do you no good. I'm like you, all guns blazing, or completely simpering. I've already managed a full on confrontation with DD's nursery school head over miscalculated fees (and she hasn't even started yet).

Hmm, 40 year old Bratz doll... How about you, Lindsay, dress as a Bratz Doll. Fishnets, bum skirt, stilettos red lips and crucifix. March through the playground and up to teacher. Thrust out your hip, pout and say "Hey, Bitch, do you think this is appropriate attire for me wear when dropping my daughter off to school? No? Then don't give her any more of these...." Thrust the pictures into her hands. Flick the crucifix at her. Turn on you heel and march off. Maybe say "Laters" to all and sundry over your shoulder and do one of those hand flickky things as you go.

OK, maybe not

Insomnia11 · 07/09/2011 14:40

I think 'tarty' is in the mind of the beholder.

Hullygully · 07/09/2011 14:41

Removable feet?

For the love of goddess, why?

DawnTiggaWeirdyBeardy · 07/09/2011 14:41

I have the feeling that whatever school The Cub goes to are going to dread seeing me fairly soon afterwards due to me having VIEWS on this kind of thing.

Hullygully · 07/09/2011 14:41

Don't have silly arguments with each other about clothes and make up. It's daft. Wear what you want. See yourselves the way you want and accept others will see you the way they want too. the end.

Claw3 · 07/09/2011 14:43

My son brought home a coloured in picture of the Little Mermaid, she has hardly any clothes on, lip gloss and breasts. I dont have any girls, but is she considered ok?

ThePerfectShitStorm · 07/09/2011 14:43

MumblingRagdoll, just read your penis picture post, tea came out of my nose Grin

BelleEnd · 07/09/2011 14:44

That is a very good point hullygully. I have sons, but when he asks about the pictures of the women on the front pages of the Daily Star in the garage Hmm I try to say something like "poor girl, she must be cold without any proper clothes on."
